Germany has prepared a new military aid package for Ukraine

The German government has prepared a new military aid package for Ukraine within the previously announced assistance.

This was announced on the official website of the German government.

The new package is part of a previously announced €1 billion aid package aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.

Thus, this military aid package includes:

  • 12 armored vehicles;
  • 7 Primoco ONE reconnaissance drones;
  • 5 unmanned surface vessels;
  • 10,000 safety glasses;
  • 32 SatCom terminals;
  • 1 PCB printer;
  • 5 truck tractor trains 8×8 HX81 and 4 semi-trailers;
  • 12 MAN TGS trucks;
  • 30 thousand winter clothing sets.

In addition, the package includes two TRML-4D air surveillance radars used as part of the IRIS-T SLM air defense system.

Germany will also provide two AMAP systems to be used as part of helicopter self-defense systems.

As previously reported, helicopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be equipped with AMPS Airborne Missile Protection System by the Hensoldt company.

The order comprises 16 AMPS (Airborne Missile Protection System) sensor solutions. It is reported that the Czech system integrator LOM PRAHA will integrate the supplied self-protection sensor technology into Ukrainian helicopters.

At the same time, the new package includes joint funding with Denmark for the preparation of 25 Leopard 1A5 tanks, which are to be delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces soon.

The equipment donated by the German government to Ukraine also notably includes five Sonobot 5 surface drones. The devices are used to inspect water bodies and detect ammunition and other dangerous objects at the bottom.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the Sonobot 5, manufactured by the German company EvoLogics GmbH, is a small surface platform that can be flexibly adapted to the needs of hydrographic surveying in inland waters.

Sonobot 5 is mainly used for three-dimensional mapping. The device can be used during search operations to identify objects that pose a threat to the safety of people and infrastructure.

Militarnyi previously reported that Finland was preparing a new aid package for Ukraine aimed at protecting critical infrastructure in the fall and winter.

Finland’s assistance is reportedly focused on strengthening the capabilities of Ukrainian rescuers.
