A TGP remote weapon station, which uses artificial intelligence to recognize and destroy the enemy’s manpower, was developed in Ukraine for the military.

The Ukrainian company devDroid.tech developed the RWS for small arms.

Servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, together with representatives of the manufacturer, recently tested this RWS.

According to the developers, the TGP turret is designed for locating, engaging, and destroying enemy manpower using artificial intelligence algorithms.

It is stated that the RWS can be used to protect strongholds from FPV and reconnaissance drones. The TGP can also cover infantry and distract enemy fire.

The RWS systems recognize the enemy’s manpower, determine the distance to it, track the target if it is moving, and calculate ballistic solution. The operator only has to give a command, and the TGP would open fire.

The RWS can be armed with a 7.62mm tank machine gun, AK-47, AK-74, Grot machine guns, and others.

The cost of one such system is UAH 300,000.

The TGP is proposed to be used to enhance the combat capabilities of mechanized units in the branch-platoon link in defensive and offensive operations. The turret can be used to modernize existing and equip the latest armored vehicles (IFVs, APCs).

TGP specifications:

  • automatic manpower detection: up to 1 km
  • target lock-on and tracking: up to 1 km
  • hitting a target measuring 2×2 meters at a distance of 1 km
  • stabilization of weapons and their alignment along the horizon
  • remote control at a distance of up to 100 meters via wire and network operation via Starlink
  • additional thermal imaging equipment to detect manpower at night
  • autonomy: 7 days without recharging
  • turret design is capable of lifting weapons to a height of 30 centimeters for digging and camouflage
  • weight: light stationary turret – up to 35 kilograms; module for placement on AFV – 110 kg.

The system is built according to an open architecture, which allows adding a range of weapons and modernization.

TGP can be placed in the trench with a depth of 40-80 centimeters for its disguise and protection from the debris of shells and from enemy fire. During combat work, the turret lifts the weapon to a height of 30 centimeters from the trench, strikes the enemy with fire, and drops back into the trench.
