An explosion occurred at a powder plant in the city of Solikamsk, Perm Krai, Russia.

The aggressor country’s media reported the incident.

The explosion at the Russian defense enterprise happened today, October 31, in the afternoon.

Residents of Solikamsk reported a powerful explosion in the afternoon local time near the Solikamsk Ural plant.

The published images from eyewitnesses capture a column of thick gray smoke spotted rising over the enterprise’s territory.

According to residents of the city, the explosion blew out windows in some houses.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations traditionally called the explosion a “pop.” According to rescuers, it occurred in the building of the second workshop of the Ural plant.

It is claimed that there was no one inside the workshop at the time of the explosion and that there was no fire after the explosion.

According to the Ministry, a report of an explosion at the Ural plant was received at 1:25 p.m. local time. 44 firefighters and 11 units of equipment were dispatched to the scene, of which 36 firefighters and 10 units of equipment were from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

It is stated that the explosion allegedly did not affect the operation of the enterprise and that no one was injured in the incident.

“The pop did not affect the work of the enterprise. It is operating as usual,” the Department added.

It should be noted that the Solikamsk Ural Plant is one of the largest military-industrial plants in Russia, producing all brands of gunpowder, metal charges, explosives, and more. The company is part of the Spetskhimiya concern of the Russian corporation Rostec.
