Behold the Epic Speed of the World’s New Superyacht, Set to Dominate the Seas

Depending on whom you ask, bigger may not always equate to better, but in the world of superyacht design, bigger typically equals sluggish. Vanquish’s VQ115 Veloce, which the company claims will be one of the world’s fastest superyachts longer than 30 meters (about 98.5 feet), may soon alter this.

The VQ115, commissioned by a repeat client from the Dutch luxury yacht company, reaches an impressive 51 knots, or about 59 miles per hour, and spans 35 meters or 114.8 feet. Later this year, the 32-seat, three-deck powerboat will be delivered to its proprietor in North America.

Vanquish intends to install three MTU Rolls-Royce 2600s engines with surface drives to power the nearly 100-ton vessel. In addition to an additional fuel canister that can be used for 15-knot cruising when the vessel is powered by two engines, it will have a range of over 500 nautical miles.

Studio Delta, a naval architecture firm, was enlisted by the Vanquish team to design the yacht’s hull to reduce drag and enhance efficiency at top speeds. The remainder of the exterior, designed by Guido de Groot, is aluminum and similarly streamlined and contemporary.

There will be an abundance of entertainment options on board. Two smaller Vanquish vessels, the VQ16 and VQ11, will be held in a tender bay and a second starboard garage, respectively. The design also includes a live bait aquarium, bar, saltwater jacuzzi, office space, cinema room, and multiple outdoor lounging and dining areas.

Despite its enormous dimensions, the VQ115’s cabin is notably small, with only three sleeping rooms. This is not an oversight, but rather the client’s specific request for an entertaining and interactive vessel. Given its immensity, the superyacht is certain to perform admirably on this front.

Meet Mako, The 394-Foot Zero-Emissions Superyacht Concept Inspired by Sharks

Last Thursday, the multidisciplinary design studio unveiled a new concept inspired by the beauty and strength of the Mako shark. Mako is a 394-foot-long, silver-hulled, long-range explorer that resembles its namesake in appearance.

Daniel Goldberg, the principal and founder of State of Craft, told Robb Report via email, “The efficiency and beauty of the sleek, sculptural shapes of Mako sharks were an early inspiration for the concept.” “I desired that the hull and superstructure, as well as the interior and exterior spaces, be tightly integrated into a single volume with a continuous surface.”

The ice-class expedition vessel is also at the forefront of environmentally friendly design. The vessel is envisioned to be equipped with hydrogen fuel cells, electric engines, batteries, and solar panels, allowing it to navigate the seas without emitting carbon dioxide. This should make Mako’s shark peers pleased. (At this time, performance specifications have not been disclosed.)

The spacious interiors eschew conventional right angles in favor of curved lines and sloping walls. Obviously, the layout can be modified to suit the requirements of commercial organizations or private explorers. Standard, however, is a double-height, light-filled space dubbed the Studio at the heart of the vessels. With its expansive windows and luxurious seating, it resembles a floating living room.

Outside, the cantilevered aft deck arcs around the hull of the yacht to provide seafarers with panoramic 270-degree views while suspended above the water. Elsewhere aft are a large recessed seating area or “island,” a spacious beach club, and a tender garage.

Pavilion is an additional attraction of Mako. This multipurpose space, suspended above the upper deck and protected by movable, perforated screens, could be used as a sky observatory, panoramic lounge, fitness studio, or yoga space. Obviously, the yacht also has a swimming pool and a helipad.

State of Craft, which has facilities in both London and Ottawa, has worked on a variety of residential developments and private residences over the past ten years. This is the company’s first venture into superyacht design. It’s surely not a terrible debut effort.

Winch Design Unveils Eco-Friendly Superyacht Interior for the Flexplorer 146 Series

Winch Design has once again demonstrated that style and sustainability can go hand in hand with their latest creation. The renowned international design firm, known for its work across air, land, and sea projects, has unveiled a superyacht interior that seamlessly combines high design with eco-friendly living.

This remarkable vessel is the third in Cantiere delle Marche’s Flexplorer 146 series, measuring 144 feet. It was specifically designed for an environmentally conscious owner who has a deep commitment to nature. The owner, along with their young family, intends to spend a significant amount of time on the yacht, necessitating a design that supports their eco-friendly lifestyle.

In homage to Mother Earth, the interior of the yacht will exclusively feature natural, non-toxic, and eco-friendly materials. Each material has been carefully selected and analyzed to ensure minimal environmental impact. The design will incorporate earthy colors and organic textures to create a raw yet refined ambiance. Mafi’s natural wooden floors will grace the yacht’s interior, further contributing to the chemical-free and environmentally friendly environment.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this project is the use of unconventional green materials. The living quarters will boast carpets crafted from recycled fishing nets and textured eggshell walls. Interestingly, approximately 275,000 tons of eggshells are produced globally each year as a byproduct of the food industry, but these can be cleverly repurposed for interior design through a roasting and coloring process. Additionally, woven grass will adorn the ceiling domes, and reclaimed seashell composite will embellish all of the bathrooms. This innovative approach not only adds to the yacht’s sustainability but also creates a unique and visually appealing interior.

Cruise Ships of 2100: A Glimpse into the Future of Cruising at Seatrade Cruise Global

Although this cruise ship prototype is not likely to be constructed, it gives us a glimpse of the potential advancements that may be seen in the future of cruise ship design and technology. The ship is based on global megatrends and is a logical response to future challenges and demands.

The ship would utilize fuel cell technology and incorporate wind-powered generators spanning from one side of the ship to the other. Additionally, the back of the ship features launching/landing pads for large drones or helicopters.

The design of the ship incorporates small restaurant areas that serve more as social meeting places, with the assumption that a large portion of nutrients would be consumed in concentrated form like pills. This forward-thinking approach considers potential developments and trends that could shape the future of cruising.

While this specific cruise ship prototype is unlikely to become a reality, it offers an exciting exploration of the possibilities and innovations that may shape the cruise ships of the future. As cruise companies continue to explore sustainable and technologically advanced solutions, the industry may see significant transformations in the coming years.

Indulge in the Ultimate Luxury: A Futuristic 111-Meter Superyacht Built for Wellness, Workouts, and Wine

The British design firm Bannenberg & Rowell has unveiled its newest superyacht concept, which has been customized for “wellness, workout, and wine.” The imposing luxury vessel, named Concept 111 for its 111-meter length, features a streamlined design with a contemporary profile and clean, sharp lines, giving it a futuristic appearance. The superyacht’s hull and superstructure are both silver, which blends wonderfully with the vessel’s neutral hues. The bow of the ship features a promenade with glass walls on three sides, providing unobstructed ocean views.

The interior design of Concept 111 echoes the exterior motif with neutral, earthy tones. A highlight of the vessel is the chef’s table in the galley, which offers visitors an immersive experience of the kitchen as well as the opportunity to sample the chef’s culinary prowess.

Bannenberg & Rowell’s ‘Oceana’ outdoor furniture was designed for furniture manufacturer Sutherland and installed in the alfresco areas. The exquisitely designed furniture features refined teak and stainless steel frames.

The superyacht features a total of three swimming pools, the largest of which is located on the massive beach club aft, the second on the main deck, and the third on the bow.

Additionally, the bow incorporates a helipad with the ship’s name in place of the standard “H.” Similarly, the stainless steel surface of the capping railings on the side deck has been etched with the number 111.

A swim platform, tender garage, and numerous lounges and dining areas are also available. The design studio has not disclosed the majority of the vessel’s technical specifications; however, it is envisioned to be propelled by a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion unit.

Meet the Futuristic Trimaran Concept, the High-Tech Vessel That Resembles the ‘Star Trek’ Enterprise on Water

With his most recent trimaran design, Anthony Glasson is venturing into uncharted territory.

M51 Concepts

The disruptive designer who leads M51 Concepts has just unveiled a new 275-foot vessel modeled after the fictional starship from the popular Star Trek franchise. However, it wasn’t until Enterprise was completed that the designer could see his inspiration plainly.

“I had been watching the first season of Star Trek and unknowingly designed a yacht that resembles the original Enterprise,” Glasson explained in a statement.

The courtyard

The hull shape was chosen for a completely distinct purpose: functionality. The designer desired to integrate a “courtyard” and thus required the characteristically wide beam of a trimaran. This unique space is located on the sundeck and is fully enclosed to shield you from the elements but has an open roof to let in sunlight. You will find a hot fountain, a bar, and comfortable sofas forward, followed by a full fitness center and a day lounge aft. A central, circular elevator that services all platforms provides access to the courtyard.

Beginning on the uppermost level, the bridge deck is reserved for the personnel but also contains an owner’s office and day lounge. The upper deck features the open-plan main lounge, a bar, and a dining room with panoramic views, whereas the main deck has a beach club, a hot tub, and the remaining spacious living accommodations.

The main lounge

As for accommodations, Enterprise has a full-beam owner’s suite and seven adaptable visitor cabins that can accommodate a total of 12 passengers. She features an expansive forward deck with a settee, an alfresco dining area, and a third hot tub, providing ample space for outdoor relaxation.

In addition, Glasson asserts that the all-aluminum multihull has numerous advantages over monohulls of comparable length and capacity. You can anticipate using approximately 30 percent less fuel while at sea. Admiral Kirk would be pleased.

The Azimut Incredible Grande Trideck Yacht Nears Completion

In September 2012, the renowned Italian shipyard Azimut announced they had begun construction on a 38.2-meter vessel named Grande Trideck, the shipyard’s largest undertaking. Since then, despite the chaotic year we’ve all had, they’ve been hard at work on this incredible yacht, and today we have word that it’s nearly finished.

A few months from now, Azimut Yachts will deliver its first three-deck yacht, and this seems like the ideal means to forget about the year 2020. Grande Trideck also seeks to demonstrate the brand’s ability to take things to the next level in terms of design and style, as well as construction.

Alberto Mancini, an Italian yacht designer, was responsible for this yacht’s extraordinary exterior design, which features dynamic and graceful lines that incorporate the exhausts and fairleads.

This three-deck vessel’s most distinctive feature is its raised aft cockpit, which generates a series of new exterior spaces strategically placed around the boat. Among them are a central gangway that leads directly to the aft raised deck, a sea-view terrace or beach club, and a private patio where passengers will likely enjoy unwinding.

The beautiful beach club has full-height ceilings, and the upper deck contains a large, full-beam social area. The sun veranda surrounding the forward bar and the custom spa surrounded by sun pads would be ideal for solitary relaxation or spending time with friends and family.

I am confident that everyone onboard will appreciate the garage space, which is large enough to house a tender and several water toys. This yacht has everything!

On the interior, another renowned Italian designer, Achille Salvagni, utilized his imagination and talent to create a flexible and informal layout that is ideal for entertaining. The private patio on the main deck may be our favorite place, as it is the ideal spot for those seeking seclusion.

Grande Trideck has five cabins, with a spacious owner’s suite on the main deck and four guest staterooms located midship. On request, a sixth cabin can also be added to the upper deck.

Packing one of two engine options rated at 2400 or 2600 HP, Azimut’s new Trideck yacht could reach a top speed of 23 or 24 knots, an impressive feat for a yacht of its size.

Get Ready to Ride the Waves on a Shark-Shaped Yacht in 2023!

The semi-customizable yacht is available in shades of grey, black, white, or scarlet

The sight of a dorsal fin slicing through the ocean is typically unwelcome; after all, we saw what happened in Jaws. However, a new shark-shaped yacht from Alpha Custom Yachts allows you to reclaim a portion of this dread by channeling the animal’s most menacing characteristics into an enjoyable activity: boating. According to Robb Report, Alpha’s newest semi-custom yacht, Squalo Trenta, was designed to resemble the silhouette of one of the ocean’s most feared predators. The name of the vessel is a direct reference to her distinctive features: Squalo is the Italian word for shark, and Trenta refers to the yacht’s 30-meter (98-foot) length.

The interior of the vessel is contemporary

In contrast to a yacht shaped like a turtle that debuted in November, the shark-shaped yacht is not an exact representation of the animal. Instead, it embodies the essence of the beast: It is imposing, sleek, powerful, and glides effortlessly through the water. Roberto Curtó Design, an Italian yacht design studio, was responsible for exterior styling, interior design, and arrangement. Massimo Verme was responsible for the naval architecture.

According to the designers, the vessels will have ample space for recreation and leisure

Although the exterior is imposing, the interior is cozy. Three expansive decks house a variety of amusement options, including an outdoor lounge pool, a bar, a wine cooler, and large televisions. Depending on the inclinations of the owner, the vessels can be equipped with either four or five bedrooms, in addition to two crew cabins. Other customization options include exterior color (though grey is the most shark-like, black, scarlet, and white are also available) and engine model. Depending on the latter, the shark has maximum speeds of 15 or 16.5 knots and cruise speeds of 13.5 or 15.5 knots.

Majic Unveiled as the Fourth Sunseeker 100 Yacht Sets Sail!

Sunseeker’s Yacht series flagship model made its début at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2022 and has sold fifteen hulls to date.

Majic is the first vessel to be completed in stealth grey, and the shipyard anticipates that she will be “the most photographed vessel in the Mediterranean and Adriatic this summer.” She was sold by Christopher Head, sales director of Sunseeker London, and represented by Matt Stanton of Stanton Land & Sea.

The 30-meter model is distinguished by a walkaround flybridge that connects the upper deck to the foredeck salon, and heralds a “new era” in flybridge design for Sunseeker, according to the shipyard.

The forward-located owner’s cabin features folding glass doors that provide direct access to the foredeck and flybridge. The yacht’s use of glass is most prominent in the main saloon, which the shipyard describes as “penthouse-style” with enormous windows on either side.

Majic will spend her inaugural season cruising in Malta, Croatia, and Greece in the Mediterranean. On the water, she joins the sisterships Ikal, Maje, and Scorpion A.
