Triple H planning on having Rey Mysterio ‘endorse his successor’ on WWE TV

Triple H is reportedly planning on having Rey Mysterio ‘endorse his successor’ on WWE TV

Triple H is reportedly planning on having Rey Mysterio ‘endorse his successor’ on WWE TV

After Santos Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio on a recent episode of SmackDown, the wheels were firmly put in motion for the two to embark on a heated feud once the former United States Champion returns from injury. Recent reports have suggested the pair won’t be alone in their rivalry, though, with suggestions that they will form teams to take each other on.

It remains to be seen which side of the war the rest of the LWO will fall on, as the duo have been working closely with the faction for quite some time. Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, Zelina Vega and Carlito are all currently members of the faction, so it’s difficult to predict whether they’ll turn on Mysterio as Escobar has or if they will stand firmly alongside their leader.

One thing is for sure, though, whatever side the group takes, the other will need to find help in what is going to be an entertaining war. It seems as though WWE already have one star lined up to get involved too.

Triple H has big plans for Dragon Lee

Having already made a strong impression in WWE following his arrival earlier this year, Dragon Lee is reportedly going to play a major role in the feud going forward and join forces with Mysterio.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, that’s the current plan anyway, and it will see the 28-year-old solidify his spot as a future star in the company.

At the moment, Escobar is acting alone and is feuding with his former teammates, but the apparent plan to include Dragon Lee, and have him also take Mysterio’s side nonetheless, implies that the former NXT man won’t be alone for long. There’s also been discussion about Humberto Carillo and Angel Garza joining the rivalry according to Meltzer, and the pair would almost certainly join Escobar.

Rey Mysterio will endorse Dragon Lee

Triple H’s decision to include Dragon Lee wouldn’t be to simply add reinforcements to Mysterio’s team as he faces off against Escobar, but there’s a much bigger picture in mind according to Meltzer.

Having the 28-year-old join the former World Heavyweight Champion would result in Rey essentially endorsing him and helping push him to another level in WWE.

Coming off of his 10th knee surgery, it’s pretty clear that Mysterio doesn’t have all that long left as an active competitor in WWE, and he has even admitted that he likely won’t still be in the ring in two years’ time, and after such an incredible career, it’s time that Triple H and co begin to plan for a life without him.

He’s undeniably been the biggest luchador the company has ever seen, so whoever takes over from him has a very tough task. It seems that WWE thinks Dragon Lee might be up for the job, though, and if Mysterio personally endorses him as his successor, fans will likely buy into it too.

Smart reason Triple H announced Randy Orton’s WWE return before Survivor Series

It turns out that Triple H was smart in announcing Randy Orton’s return to WWE before Survivor Series WarGames

On Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, Cody Rhodes revealed Randy Orton as the fifth member of his team for the men’s WarGames match against Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series on November 25.

WWE fans are incredibly excited to see Orton back in action for the first time since he went down with a ‘severe’ back injury in May 2022. However, many have been left to question Triple H’s move to spoil his comeback, rather than keeping it as a surprise.

In explaining the reason for Triple H’s call, a new report has revealed that WWE’s Chief Content Officer made the decision because of one CM Punk…

Randy Orton will return at Survivor Series

After Drew McIntyre delivered a Claymore to Jey Uso a couple of weeks ago on Raw, it was clear that Judgment Day had a fifth member for their match at Survivor Series WarGames. However, Cody’s team was still one man short to call it even.

This week’s episode of the Red brand had Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn scrolling through their contacts to find their fifth member for WarGames. While Jey battled Drew in an advantage match for the double-caged unforgiving match, Cody found his partner in an old friend.

wwe-survivor-series-wargames-2023

Drew defeated Jey clean to get the advantage at WarGames. However, the tables turned when Rhodes & co. came out to announce their partner Randy Orton.

Orton was one of the front-runners for the spot, with John Cena also being considered, but many fans speculated Triple H may use the ‘mystery man’ role as an opportunity to bring back CM Punk, but that seemingly won’t be happening.

It’s strange for WWE to opt to not have Orton’s return be a surprise, considering how serious his injury was, so much so that people within WWE feared he may have to retire.

However, Fightful is reporting that Orton’s name being revealed was always the plan for Triple H. ‘The Game’ didn’t want the WWE Universe to presume that CM Punk would return as the fifth member of Team Rhodes, so to prevent fans from being angry when the former World Heavyweight Champion didn’t show up, HHH opted to reveal who the mystery man was.

Judgement Day could implode at WarGames

The likely main event of Survivor Series 2023, the Men’s WarGames match, seems to be very intriguing. With Judgment Day and Drew on one side having the advantage, and Rhodes, Rollins, Zayn, Jey, and a returning Orton on the other side, fans can expect to see a thrilling match on Saturday evening.

With Judgment Day having mild tensions among themselves, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio along with Drew losing their cool on the team captain, Damian Priest, and attacking him wouldn’t be too surprising.

wwe-damian-priest-leader

Seth has promised to keep cool and stand alongside Cody for one night at WarGames. However, with the history between both men, Rollins and Rhodes having a couple of misunderstandings and beginning a rivalry after the PLE could be an avenue that Triple H looks to explore.

However, one man that nobody can trust at WarGames would be Orton. Given Jey was involved in keeping Randy off TV for more than 18 months, the tag team specialist’s reaction to Randy’s return announcement planted the seeds for an eventual feud.

John Cena receives desperate message from WWE after veteran claims his career is over

Is John Cena done with pro-wrestling?

WWE has sent a message to John Cena following a massive claim made by a veteran.

Following Solo Sikoa’s victory over Cena at Crown Jewel 2023, Paul Heyman cut a fiery promo on SmackDown, putting the young gun over. He also declared that Cena would never appear in a WWE ring again after losing to Sikoa in Saudi Arabia.

WWE shared the clip on its Instagram handle shortly after. The promotion desperately told John Cena to “say it ain’t so” in the caption of the post.
“Say it ain’t so, @johncena 😭,”‘ the caption said.

John Cena himself recently hinted that the end is near

Shortly before his Crown Jewel outing with Solo Sikoa, Cena spoke with Cathy Kelley in a backstage interview.

He candidly opened up about his future and hinted that the end is looming closer.

“There is no denying the fact that I’m 46 and staring down 47. I’ve been here for over two decades. As I said out there in the ring, the last one is not tonight, but I know it’s soon. To speak candidly, when you’re involved in this every day in a full-time capacity, you just think about what’s next.

The WWE Universe being gracious to invite me and allow me back to be part of this family, for the last two or three years, I’ve been able to focus on what’s now. I never miss any of those wonderful moments in the ring.” [H/T Wrestling Headlines]

Cena is 46 at present. He is doing quite well for himself as a Hollywood star, and he isn’t getting any younger. It won’t be a surprise if Cena’s Crown Jewel bout against Solo ends up being his last match.

What do you think? Will Cena make a return for one final match? Sound off in the comments section below.

Natalya, Mickie James, and many other stars react to Jey Uso’s insane back tattoo

Jey Uso showing off his back tattoo.

Several wrestlers have commented on Jey Uso’s incredible back tattoo in his new Instagram post.

Jey has consistently been one of WWE’s top babyfaces for months on end now. He is all set to compete in a huge Men’s WarGames Match at the upcoming Survivor Series WarGames Premium Live Event.

Taking to Instagram, Jey Uso shared a video of his back tattoo. The post received tons of reactions from the fans as well as his fellow WWE Superstars. Jey himself commented on the original post. Check out Jey’s Instagram post below, as well as some notable reactions to the same:

Some reactions to Jey’s back tattoo.

Jey Uso was concerned after Cody Rhodes announced Randy Orton’s return

Jey Uso was one of the biggest heels in WWE as a member of The Bloodline last year. In May 2022, The Bloodline destroyed RK-Bro after The Usos won a unification match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles on an episode of SmackDown. Orton then went on a hiatus due to a back injury, thus putting an end to RK-Bro’s run.

On this week’s episode of RAW, Cody Rhodes announced Randy Orton’s upcoming return at the Survivor Series WarGames event. The crowd in the arena erupted over the massive announcement, but Jey looked concerned over the same. Jey is aware that he had contributed to putting Orton out of action for more than a year, and the latter probably still remembers what he did.

Only time will tell if Orton will confront Jey and remind him what happened more than a year ago. For now, Jey is completely focused on the Men’s WarGames Match at the mega event. He will team up with Orton, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, and Seth Rollins, with the babyfaces taking on Drew McIntyre and The Judgment Day.

Matt Riddle shows off brand new look as post-WWE career begins

Matt Riddle has shown off his brand new look on social media as his post-WWE career begins

Matt Riddle is one of WWE's top stars right now

Matt Riddle, who was released from WWE in September, has dramatically changed his appearance as he begins his life away from the company.

Two months ago, following the official confirmation of their sale to Endeavour and merger with UFC, the WWE roster was heavily trimmed. In terms of releases, the number of wrestlers who lost their jobs wasn’t as high as it has been in previous years, with those in charge choosing to restructure the backroom staff rather than in-ring talent.

The Fall of Matt Liddle

Under the usual justification of ‘budget cuts’, we saw people that many assumed were WWE-lifers like Dolph Ziggler and Shelton Benjamin who could’ve easily settled into producer roles after their in-ring retirements having to leave the company.

Also, higher-ups took the merger as an opportunity to let talent go who may cause an issue for them in terms of PR going forward, including Riddle, a former United States Champion.

WWE fired Matt Riddle in September 2022

Riddle was one of the most popular wrestlers that WWE had on their books in the years prior to his release, but on September 22 his time with the biggest wrestling company in the world came to an end.

He has always been someone who has divided opinion among wrestling fans, and the former UFC star’s departure came in the midst of a controversial incident.

In mid-September, Matt took to social media to accuse an employee at JFK airport of inappropriate conduct, even claiming that he had been sexually assaulted. Of course, people were initially very sympathetic towards The Original Bro, but the Instagram post was quickly taken down with it coming out soon after that Riddle was intoxicated while at the airport, including video footage showing him acting in a disruptive manner.

As such, the company felt as if it was best for all involved to separate themselves from the 37-year-old, despite him being a useful star on their roster. It was reported that Triple H and co felt as if Riddle has ‘burned too many chances’, and many of his fans have been wondering what could be next for him, with his non-compete expiring this month.

Matt Riddle

Matt Riddle has changed up his look

However, despite there being no indication for over two months as to his future, viewers are starting to think that may be gearing up for his next move, as Riddle has revealed a new look on social media. In WWE, the star was always been known for his long hair, but as seen on his Instagram story, he now has much shorter hair akin to that of his UFC career.

To speculate on his future plans, perhaps his haircut is a clue that he will be making an MMA comeback soon, alternatively, this may just be him deciding to freshen up his presentation ahead of a return to the professional wrestling ring away from WWE.

Whatever his next step, Riddle will almost certainly continue to divide opinion, and his fans will likely follow him wherever he chooses to do. As always, as more comes out about Matt Riddle and what he might do next, GiveMeSport will keep you informed.

‘Cult of Personality’ remix released ahead of potential CM Punk WWE return

A ‘Cult of Personality’ remix has been released ahead of CM Punk’s potential return to WWE

A (possible) hint has emerged over CM Punk’s wrestling future ahead of WWE Survivor Series, and it has fans rather excited.

The rumour mill has been rampant for months regarding what the future holds for CM Punk. Following the termination of his AEW contract on September 2, co-incidentally on the same day as WWE Payback, many have been desperate to know what his next move is going to be.

Immediately, there were those who linked Punk with a return to the company that he made a dramatic and controversial exit from in 2014, and a portion of viewers began to allow themselves to believe that WWE re-signing the ex-World Heavyweight Champion had become possible. It was even reported by multiple outlets that the two parties were ‘in talks’ shortly afterwards.

CM Punk is unlikely to return to WWE

Despite a return to WWE initially seeming very unlikely, even the most skeptical wrestling fans raised their eyebrows when many noticed potential references to CM Punk being integrated into Raw and SmackDown.

At first, viewers started to notice lines commonly associated with the 45-year-old cropping up through Corey Graves on commentary, but the links got stronger as the weeks went on.

Those looking for a Punk return to WWE got excited when Shinsuke Nakamura hit a ‘Go To Sleep’ on two consecutive weeks of Raw, and the Japanese star’s confusing cryptic promos in recent weeks have gotten people talking even more.

Regarding his segments, Nakamura has been talking to a mystery man, asking his foe to ‘set him free’ and saying ‘I know you are close’ without fans knowing who he’s referring to.

Particularly with Survivor Series taking place in Chicago tomorrow night, some feel as if the two-time NXT Champion is being used as a way to re-introduce CM Punk to the WWE, perhaps through an impromptu open challenge at the AllState Arena, although that has been confirmed as of yet.

New ‘Cult of Personality’ remix released

Admittedly, despite there being potential hints dotted throughout the last couple of weeks, the prevailing belief among fans and journalists is that CM Punk will not be at Survivor Series on November 25.

However, rumours of a WWE comeback simply won’t die down as we head into tomorrow night and towards Royal Rumble season.

To throw even more fuel on the fire when it comes to Punk WWE return, the online fanbase has been sparked into a frenzy due to the actions of Living Colour, the band who are behind ‘Cult of Personality’.

As spotted by @WrestleOps on X among others, the song synonymous with the ‘Second City Saint’ was remixed and unexpectedly released onto all streaming platforms earlier today.

While that may not initially seem like a big deal, cast your mind back to almost five months ago, when Rev Theory released a slightly altered version of Randy Orton’s iconic ‘Voices’ theme music at the end of June. As we know now, ‘The Viper’ is set to return from an injury that has kept him out for over 18 months at Survivor Series, likely using the remix of his song.

Whether Living Colour’s new version of Cult of Personality will accompany CM Punk as he walks back through WWE’s doors for the first time in almost a decade remains to be seen, as it’s possible that the band are just trying to capitalise on the hype of the rumours. Still, with Survivor Series less than 48 hours away, many viewers are tuning in hoping to see a shock return.

As always, should more come out about CM Punk potentially coming back to WWE, GiveMeSport will keep you informed.

Possibility CM Punk return to WWE is ‘well-kept secret’

There’s reportedly a possibility that CM Punk’s return to WWE is a ‘well-kept secret’

The latest has been revealed regarding whether CM Punk could be making a WWE return at Survivor Series on November 25.

On Saturday evening, WWE will put on the 37th annual Survivor Series from the AllState Arena in Chicago. The event will feature two rings as the War Games stipulation is planned for both the men’s and women’s divisions respectively, and there are also two title matches on the show as both GUNTHER and Rhea Ripley are set for title defences.

However, the thing that has perhaps gotten fans talking the most heading into tomorrow night is whether or not Punk will make an impactful return to WWE just shy of a decade after his last appearance for the company. Rumours of a comeback began over two months ago, and they’ve only ramped up in the weeks leading up to Survivor Series which takes place in his hometown in Illinois.

WWE doesn’t want fans to think CM Punk is returning

Many of Punk’s supporters are allowing themselves to believe that this weekend could be the time that he re-signs with WWE.

Though, the belief among outlets such as Fightful over the past couple of weeks has been that the 45-year-old won’t be re-appearing at Survivor Series tomorrow night, and given that they were the first to learn of Punk agreeing terms with AEW in 2021, it’s likely that they would’ve heard about him signing with Triple H should that be happening.

WWE could be keeping CM Punk’s return a ‘well-kept secret’

But, to offer some hope to CM Punk fans, Dave Meltzer has written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it’s always possible that WWE’s deal to bring Punk back is ‘a well-kept secret’, meaning that a return still isn’t out of the question just yet.

If WWE was to bring in Punk, we’ve seen no evidence this is happening and those close to the situation have denied it, but it is possible it’s a well-kept secret. If Punk isn’t there the last thing the company wants is Punk chants during the show. From the start, we were told that while there is negativity about Punk, they are not completely opposed to it if the idea is it’s something they have to do in regard to fan response.

Meltzer makes reference to how WWE has recently confirmed the return of Randy Orton for Survivor Series in order to stop the audience from expecting CM Punk to compete in War Games, however we still don’t know the plan for Shinsuke Nakamura, who has been involved in very cryptic segments as of late in which he is teasing an unknown foe to find him.

It remains possible, albeit still unlikely, that Triple H could have the Japanese star call an impromptu open challenge which ushers in the return of CM Punk, who perhaps uses the remixed version of his theme song which was released by Living Colour earlier today.

Randy Orton Set To Maintain Two-Decade Streak At WWE Survivor Series

A WWE streak held by Randy Orton for the past 20 years is set to continue at Survivor Series tonight.

After more than a year and a half away from the ring, The Viper will compete tonight at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. Randy Orton was revealed as the fifth member of Cody Rhodes‘ team in WarGames on this past Monday’s Raw, marking his first match back in the company since suffering a major back injury in May 2022.

On top of making his triumphant in-ring return, however, Orton is also set to continue one of the longest ongoing streaks in WWE history into its 21st year.

As his return tonight marks his first WWE match in 2023, Orton will maintain his streak of having wrestled in at least one WWE match every year since 2002. This also ensures Orton will keep his record of being the longest-tenured full-time talent currently on the WWE roster.

The only other star to achieve this immense feat is John Cena, who maintained his version of the streak when he faced Austin Theory during the first night of WrestleMania 39 earlier this year.

When Did Randy Orton Last Wrestle In WWE?

Randy Orton competed in his last WWE match 554 days ago on the May 20th, 2022 edition of SmackDown. There, he and Matt Riddle lost their Raw Tag Team Championship to then-SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos in a Winner Take All Title Unification match.

The landscape of both WWE and the professional wrestling industry as a whole has vastly changed since Orton last stepped inside the ropes. One of the biggest examples of this is Vince McMahon retiring, subsequently returning to the company, WWE being sold to Endeavor, and McMahon losing WWE creative control as a result all occurred whilst Orton was out of action.

10 Photos Of Our Favourite Wrestlers Looking Super Old (And 10 Who Look Better Than Ever)

Being in the ring takes its toll. Many wrestlers from the ’80s and ’90s stayed in shape and look amazing today, while others didn’t age as well.

If there’s an industry that ages talent faster than almost any other, it’s undoubtably professional wrestling. Many of your favourite WWE and WCW stars from the 80s and 90s look completely ‘washed up’ and worn out now after their gruelling careers in Sports Entertainment ended.

While the WWE and other big promotions try to keep their talent as healthy as possible now, even wrestlers from just 10 years ago are looking super old today. Back in the day, ‘the juice’ compounded with many addiction problems aged wrestlers extremely quickly. But even today, the sport of wrestling itself is enough to age a performer far more briskly than you or me.

While we love the art of wrestling, it is very doubtful the human body was designed to tolerate abuse in the ring every day of the week. This notion has been proven with how many wrestlers are hurt so frequently.

However, not all wrestlers age as badly as others, and there are surprisingly still plenty of wrestling stars from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s who look fantastic, and are in great shape.

That being said, I’d argue the number of wrestlers looking super old and washed up far outweigh those who still look great, and this is why it’s quite ‘out of the ordinary’ when we see former WWE or WCW stars looking good. Today, we’re going to be looking at 10 photos of your favourite wrestlers looking super old, and 10 who look better than ever.

20Super Old: Lex Luger

via twitter.com

Out of all the former WCW stars who look completely unrecognizable and downright terrible without ‘the juice’, Lex Luger has to be at the forefront of that list. The former WCW World Champion has unfortunately lost all of his once impressive muscle mass due to health complications caused by abusing ‘the juice’ and other substances for many years, and he’s certainly not looking too good right now.

Showcased above is what Lex Luger looks like today, and he’s definitely looking super old considering he’s only 59.

Luger unquestionably possessed one of the most intimidating physiques throughout the 80s and 90s in professional wrestling, and while it certainly helped him achieve success, the negative side effects that come with being ‘on the juice’ for so many years cannot be overlooked.

19Better Than Ever: Steve Austin

via basenotes.net

If there’s one thing for certain when it comes to Stone Cold Steve Austin, it’s the fact that he never seems to age – if anything, Austin’s gotten himself into better shape since retiring. Stone Cold may be 53 years old, but he could easily pass for being in his early 40s, something that could not be said for a wrestler such as Triple H who’s a whole five years younger than Austin.

Our take on Steve Austin not aging as quickly as most other WWE and WCW stars simply stems from good genetics, and retiring from wrestling well before he needed to.

Stone Cold was only in his mid 30s when he retired, so he’s had many years for his body to recuperate from the wear and tear. While Steve Austin portrays a beer drinking guy on television, he’s undoubtedly sticking to a good diet as well.

18Super Old: The Dynamite Kid

via twitter.com

The Dynamite Kid’s health has declined immensely over the past few years, and he’s looking absolutely terrible right now as shown above, unfortunately. While the sport of professional wrestling itself is more than enough to wear out and age its talent extremely quickly, the fact remains that abusing ‘the juice’ to the degree Dynamite Kid did during his prime definitely speeds up the process even more.

Wrestlers back in the 80s and 90s didn’t have the knowledge about ‘the juice’ and its negative side effects like they do now. It’s very sad to see former wrestling stars such as Dynamite Kid and Lex Luger suffering from those said side effects currently. The Dynamite Kid unquestionably looks much older than 59, and he’s quite honestly become unrecognizable with age.

17Better Than Ever: Billy Gunn

via twitter.com

Similar to Al Snow, Billy Gunn is looking absolutely terrific for being 54 years old, and showcased above is a photograph of Billy post-workout with his impressive ‘guns’ on full display. However, unlike Al Snow, Billy Gunn has actually been linked to ‘the juice’ as he had been fired for failing the WWE’s Wellness Policy a few years back, so there’s no denying that Gunn achieved his physique unnaturally, as he did.

That said, it’s still impressive for Billy to have been able to get himself in such fantastic shape even with the help of the juice, because as we mentioned before, hard work, dedication and a great diet are all necessary as well. While he’s not been all too successful outside the WWE, Billy Gunn’s still wrestling on the Indies and in NJPW to this day.

16Super Old: Bret Hart

via twitter.com

Bret Hart may be one of, if not the greatest wrestler of all time, but that doesn’t change the fact that Bret hasn’t aged very well, and the recent photo above shows ‘The Hitman’ looking super old and worn out. Bret Hart clearly hasn’t been working out in the gym like he used to since retiring, and it’s definitely showing.

Bret is 60 years old, so he was bound to show some aging at this point.

The wrestling business undoubtedly wears out its performers quicker than most other industry’s including Hollywood, as actors who worked gruelling schedules too are still looking great even into their 70s – guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone for example. Nothing quite compares to being tossed around the ring day in and day out for decades on end.

15Better Than Ever: Sycho Sid

via pensandpatron.com

When I had first stumbled across the picture above of former WWE and WCW Champion Sycho Sid, it was very surprising and shocking to say the least. Despite retiring from Sports Entertainment many years ago, Sid’s kept himself in great shape, and he’s quite honestly never looked better – not even in his prime.

Sycho Sid officially retired from wrestling last summer after he defeated Indie wrestler Paul Rosenberg at an event held by Great North Wrestling, and while Sycho Sid may not be your ‘favorite’ wrestler of all time, you cannot deny that he was a key player during the 90s wrestling boom. Comparing the 57 year old Sycho Sid to Bret Hart, it’s clear a wrestler can still look good later on in life if they make a conscious effort to stay healthy and fit.

14Super Old: Sunny

via twitter.com

We simply cannot put all the focus on your favorite male wrestlers looking super old and those looking better than ever, as there are undoubtedly many female wrestlers looking great, and some not so much. One of the former women’s wrestling stars who’s looking super old presently is none other than Sunny.

As I’m sure most are well aware, Sunny’s post-WWE life has been filled with substance use and controversial behaviour.

She’s definitely showing the wear and tear of her terrible decisions. If you hadn’t known, Sunny had been arrested the other day for being a ‘fugitive from justice’, and she’s once again found herself amidst the media for being controversial. Above is a recent photo of Sunny posing alongside a fan, and she’s looking very worn out and washed up.

13Better Than Ever: Scott Hall

via instagram.com

Scott Hall is living proof that it’s never too late for a former wrestler struggling with alcohol or drug addiction to change their ways and make a drastic transformation in their health and overall appearance. Shown above is what Scott Hall looks like today, and compared to just two years ago, he’s looking better than ever.

With the help of Diamond Dallas Page and some of his other good friends, Scott’s since gotten himself back into the gym with a good diet, kicked the addictions that had previously held him down, and is in unbelievable shape for being just one year shy of 60 years old. The days of Scott Hall looking like a complete mess are over, and he’s making much healthier life decisions now, thankfully.

12Super Old: Randy Orton

via whatculture.com

Although Randy’s been apart of Sports Entertainment for what seems like an eternity now, the fact remains that Orton’s still only 37 years old – much younger than what you may have expected him to be.

I’d argue that many fans would’ve expected Randy to be well into his 40s now, and if that were the case, he wouldn’t be looking too bad, but for 37, he’s aged very quickly.

Compared to fellow SmackDown Live Superstars AJ Styles and Bobby Roode who are 40 years old and looking as young as ever, Randy Orton’s definitely aging faster than other wrestlers.

Randy Orton used to be quite reckless back in the day, so perhaps some of his poor early life choices are catching up to ‘The Viper’ now, but regardless, this picture showcases Randy Orton looking super old and worn out.

11Better Than Ever: Dwayne Johnson

via instagram.com

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has never looked better at any point of his career in Sports Entertainment than he does right now, and he certainly looks like a modern day version of ‘Hercules’. The Rock’s unparalleled work ethic has not only allowed him to succeed to the degree he has in Hollywood, but it’s also kept ‘The Brahma Bull’ in fantastic shape.

Dwayne’s forte is unquestionably making action films, so it only makes sense that he’d be making sure that he stays in phenomenal shape.

Many fans are hoping that we’ll be seeing The Rock make a shocking comeback to the WWE sometime in the near future, and I’m sure Vince McMahon is trying his hardest to convince Rocky to make an appearance at WrestleMania 34 this year – whether for a match, or a non-wrestling appearance.

10Super Old: Triple H

via instagram.com

The stress, intense schedule and responsibility of being one of the WWE’s most important executives has definitely been adding a few wrinkles to Triple H’s forehead recently, and since becoming more of an executive over an in-ring performer, Hunter has aged extremely quickly. Shown above is a recent photograph of Triple H posing alongside recent signee Ronda Rousey, and Hunter’s definitely looking super old for only being 48.

When Triple H returned to the ring last year for the Survivor Series pay-per-view as well as the supershow in India, you could clearly tell that Hunter’s body has been deteriorating a bit, as he was nowhere near in the shape he was at WrestleMania 33.

Having the responsibility of being a top WWE executive as well as a part-time performer is unquestionably taxing in all departments, and it’s a position that will age a person quicker than any other.

9Better Than Ever: Torrie Wilson

Unlike Sunny, former WWE women’s wrestler Torrie Wilson is looking better than ever, and we definitely mean that. Even during her peak in Sports Entertainment, Wilson was never quite as ‘shredded’ as she is presently, and her recent Royal Rumble appearance showcases that Torrie hasn’t missed a beat.

If you can believe, Torrie Wilson is only three years younger than Sunny, which just goes to show how much our decisions can truly affect our appearance.

Since retiring from full-time competition, Wilson’s found success in modeling, and she’s also a fitness instructor and blogger. I’m sure most fans wouldn’t mind a beauty like Torrie Wilson becoming a full-time women’s wrestler once again, as she’s just as gorgeous as she was ten years ago – if not more stunning.

8Super Old: Ric Flair

via tmz.com

‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair certainly hasn’t aged too gracefully, and shown above is a recent photograph showcasing Flair looking super old, much older than his actual age of 69. It’s clear the years of alcohol abuse have been catching up severely with Ric Flair the past couple years, as he’s been looking noticeably older compared to just two years ago.

However, health issues aside, Ric Flair continues to live his life in a stylin’ and profilin’ way, and it doesn’t seem like Flair’s willing to change his ways, nor is he able to kick his addiction issues.

Regardless, Ric Flair is one of he greatest of all time, and his limousine riding style is what set him apart from everybody else and made him a star. That being said, it doesn’t look like Flair will be living as long of a life as he could’ve had he curbed his alcohol problem earlier on.

7Better Than Ever: Goldberg

via bleacherreport.com

Although Bill Goldberg isn’t quite as shredded as he was during his short run in WWE last year, he’s still undoubtedly looking better than ever – comparable to his prime in Sports Entertainment. Bill’s genetics are obviously fantastic, and to be able to look the way he does at 50 odd years old is unbelievable to say the least.

Goldberg is still very much the beast of old, and while he’s heading into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year, don’t rule out one last match sometime down the line – perhaps at ‘Mania next year.

Vince McMahon is all for doing ‘what’s best for business’, and if Goldberg’s able to keep himself in great shape, the opportunity will present itself once again in the future. What makes Goldberg’s physique even more impressive is the fact that he’s likely natural and juice-free.

6Super Old: John Cena

via hairlosstalk.com

While John Cena’s recent hair transplant has made the former ‘Face That Runs The Place’ appear a bit younger, this close-up photograph definitely showcased Cena looking super old. Being the face of the WWE for well over a decade definitely takes its toll on any wrestler, and John Cena is no exception to this rule. Compared to other wrestlers currently in WWE who are the same age as Cena (40) such as AJ Styles, Bobby Roode and Brock Lesnar, in this specific photo, John looked a solid ten years older.

The hair transplant has certainly helped John look much younger than he did last year, but he’s still showing the wear and tear from being the face of WWE for so long.

It doesn’t seem as though Cena’s schedule is going to become any lighter in the foreseeable future, as John’s putting a big chunk of his focus now on his budding career in Hollywood.

5Better Than Ever: Al Snow

Had Al Snow possessed the physique he has now during his prime years in Sports Entertainment, who knows how much further he could’ve gone in WWE. Showcased above is a photo of Al Snow looking better than ever, and Snow’s never been so shredded in his life.

It’s quite surprising to see Al in such great shape at 54 years old, and while some may make assumptions that Snow’s ‘on the juice’, regardless, hard work is unquestionably required to attain such an impressive physique at his age.

Al Snow may be heading towards the tail end of his career, but he’s definitely concerned about his health once his career finishes up unlike many other WWE and WCW stars from his generation who completely fell off the rails once they retired.

4Super Old: The Undertaker

via wwfoldschool.com

The Undertaker’s unquestionably one of the all-time greats, but I think most of us can agree on the fact that ‘Taker’s aged terribly, and the recent picture above showcases ‘The Deadman’ looking super old and completely worn out.

It’s quite surprising that The Undertaker’s continuously agreed to wrestle at WrestleMania each year despite being in terrible shape, and while ‘Mania wouldn’t quite be the same without ‘Taker, I think of us would rather have Undertaker keep away from the ring to avoid being tossed around once again this year for no real reason.

If you can believe, The Undertaker’s actually one year younger than Steve Austin, and I’d argue that ‘Taker looks about 10 years older than he actually is. The wrestling business has definitely ‘chewed up and spit out’ The Undertaker, and it would be a wise decision for everyone involved if ‘Taker honored his retirement ceremony last year.

3Better Than Ever: Hulk Hogan

via tribunecontentagency.com

While Hulk Hogan had deflated without the juice a few years back, Hogan’s since gotten himself back into phenomenal shape, and he’s looking better than. Shown above is a recent photo of ‘The Hulkster’ and his son Nick, and Hulk Hogan’s ‘guns’ were on full display. Hogan definitely looks fantastic for being 64 years old, and he truly seems ready for a return to WWE in the near future – though that’s likely not going to happen as the company recently stated their stance on Hulk returning.

Hulk Hogan has undoubtedly bounced back from his controversial lawsuit with Gawker and his racist remarks, and I think most of us can agree that he wouldn’t be a problem for WWE at this point if he did return. However, Vince McMahon seems very committed to his decision of banning Hogan from WWE, and it’s very unfortunate to say the least.

2Super Old: Shawn Michaels

via turkagram.com

Although Shawn Michaels is still in great shape, this particular photograph of ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ and his good friend Triple H made Shawn look super old. This certainly isn’t one of Shawn’s most flattering post-retirement pictures, as Michaels looked closer to 62 years old than his actual age of 52 in this photo – I’m sure it’s a picture Shawn doesn’t want any of us to see.

However, Shawn Michaels has still kept up his physique, and he looks as though he could return to the ring at any moment. Unfortunately for fans, Shawn turned down a big money Royal Rumble match with AJ Styles last year, and Michaels has no interest in returning to the ring. On one hand, it would’ve been a great match, but it also would have done nothing for Michaels to lose a random return match – it would’ve tainted his legacy in Sports Entertainment.

1Better Than Ever: Bruno Sammartino

via blogspot.ca

Out of all the wrestlers included on this list who’re looking ‘better than ever’, I don’t think any of them quite compare to WWE Hall Of Famer, Bruno Sammartino. Showcased above is what the legend looks like currently, and his physique is beyond impressive for a guy who’s 82 years old, almost unthinkable actually.

While the wrestling business wears out most of its talent, you simply cannot say that it wears out all of them, as Bruno is an exception to that rule. As we had mentioned before, Sammartino looks as though he could be main eventing pay-per-views for the WWE right now, and he’s arguably in better shape than half the current roster. However, Bruno’s definitely a rarity, as most professional wrestlers his age can barely move, let alone flex a shredded physique.

‘Secret perk’ of becoming WWE Champion finally revealed

A ‘secret perk’ of becoming WWE Champion has finally been revealed in a new interview

Throughout his career, Rob Van Dam became one of the most popular WWE Superstars of all time and always drew some of the loudest reactions whenever he appeared.

The former ECW man had some incredible moments following his move to Vince McMahon’s company, including numerous Intercontinental Championship runs and even a Money in the Bank win.

Despite his popularity, RVD only managed to win a world championship on one occasion in the company. That came in one of the most memorable title matches ever as he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to face off with John Cena for the WWE Championship at ECW One Night Stand 2006.

He beat ‘Big Match John’ on the night, and it received an unbelievable response from fans, who were elated to see the exciting talent finally reach the mountaintop. The run didn’t really last too long, unfortunately, after Van Dam was busted for possession of marijuana, and he swiftly dropped the belt to Edge in a triple threat match that included Cena.

During that brief stint as the champion, though, he discovered a little-known perk that was handed to whoever was holding the title at the time and in a recent interview, he finally revealed all, 17 years after winning the belt.

You get a first-class ticket when you become WWE Champion

As wrestling podcasts continue to grow in popularity, and more and more of them keep popping up all over the internet, we as fans are being fed more information and backstage secrets about the business than ever before. Van Dam has his own show now called the One of a Kind podcast, and it was on there that he shared with the world the secret perk that he received while he was WWE Champion.

The greatest secret in the business — I never, ever, ever heard this. Ever. Only did I experience it firsthand, and people don’t talk about it really. So maybe it’s not meant to be talked about.

F***, look at me, running my mouth like a f***ing rat When. I got the WWE Championship belt, then all of a sudden I got bumped up to first class. And if it was an airplane that didn’t have first-class available because the airplane was too small or whatever, they would literally buy two seats, and I’d have the seat next to me open, and they were both mine. I had never heard that.
WWE is an image-based business, and becoming World Champion has its perks. The company wants its top champions to look, dress and travel like champions, and people like Rob Van Dam first-class tickets seems to be part of that.

Rey Mysterio also received perks after becoming World Champion

Around the same time that Van Dam won the WWE Championship, Rey Mysterio was the World Heavyweight Champion, having won the gold at WrestleMania 22 in a triple threat match with Kurt Angle and Randy Orton. Perplex at the fact he was being given these sorts of perks, the former ECW man reached out to Rey and asked him about the situation.

Mysterio revealed that he had also been given those sorts of benefits while he was World Heavyweight Champion too. Winning one of the biggest championships in all of wrestling shows just how much trust WWE has in you as a competitor to fly the flag for their brand. It seems they also want to treat you like a star as well.
