WWE Universe doesn’t want popular star to win the Royal Rumble match over Becky Lynch or Liv Morgan

Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan at WWE Day 1 2022!

Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan are currently the WWE Universe’s favorites to win the upcoming Royal Rumble match. However, a popular star’s name was pitched by a veteran to win the gimmick match, and fans immediately rejected the idea.

Triple H added more star power to WWE earlier this year when he signed Jade Cargill after she left AEW. However, management has meticulously planned the former AEW TBS Champion’s debut as she has yet to compete in the squared circle for the promotion.

Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley (aka Bully Ray) pitched an ideal scenario where Jade Cargill debuts for the company and wins the Women’s Royal Rumble match. Fans immediately rejected the idea as they did not want Cargill to win the gimmick match in her debut for the promotion.

Check out some of the fan reactions below:

Honorable mention to Bayley, as fans also want her to win over Jade Cargill as she has an ongoing story with Damage CTRL. It will be interesting to see which superstar will win the upcoming Royal Rumble match in January 2024.

WWE Hall of Famer explains why Jade Cargill needs to win at Royal Rumble 2024

The women’s division in WWE has been thriving with exciting matches and rich storylines drawing more numbers than an average storyline with male performers. Most of these storylines will take the audience into the new year, with the matches possibly taking place around or at WrestleMania 40.

However, fans have wondered what’s in store for Jade Cargill since she signed with the promotion. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Duddley (aka Bully Ray) gave his bold pitch to make Cargill win the gimmick match in her debut:
“Right now, she has not been seen as much on TV because you can’t just keep showing somebody… and doing nothing with it because then you get tired of seeing them doing absolutely nothing.
Closer to the Royal Rumble, maybe she pops up. Maybe she pops up, and then you bring her in, in the Rumble. Give me a logical reason in the world of sports entertainment why Jade Cargill could not debut at the Royal Rumble and win.”

A majority of fans want the likes of Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Liv Morgan to win and go on to face Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY at WrestleMania 40.

Who do you think will win the Women’s Royal Rumble match? Sound off in the comments section below.

Spoiler on surprising plans for Roman Reigns’ next WWE match

A spoiler has emerged on WWE’s surprising plans for Roman Reigns’ next match

wwe-roman-reigns

We now have an idea as to when Roman Reigns will next wrestle in WWE, however it won’t be against the man that many people are expecting.

At the time of writing, Reigns has been on top of WWE for over 1,170 days, first winning the Universal Title in August 2020 and later unifying it against Brock Lesnar to become the Undisputed World Champion. Each time he enters an arena, fans are captivated by his presence and there’s no denying that Roman is the biggest star that WWE has on its active roster at present.

Over the course of more than three years, Roman has overcome every challenger that has posed a threat to his championship run, including those who many viewers thought would go on to be crowned as the SmackDown’s next top champion.

Names like Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, John Cena and even the 2023 Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes have all fallen at the feel of ‘The Tribal Chief’ throughout his reign, and fans still aren’t quite sure who will eventually be the man to dethrone the current Head of The Table.

Roman Reigns beat LA Knight at WWE Crown Jewel

However, as Roman’s reign has gone on, he’s become known for his part-time schedule and inability to regularly defend his gold. Recently, it was revealed that Reigns had only competed in 11 matches in all of 2023, a number that is shockingly low for the face of the WWE.

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion’s last defense came on November 4 against LA Knight in Saudi Arabia, 90 days after his clash with Jey Uso at SummerSlam.

Many were disappointed to see ‘The Megastar’ walk out of Crown Jewel empty-handed, and, despite continuing to feud with The Bloodline on SmackDown, neither Reigns nor Knight are currently booked the Survivor Series Premium Live Event in Chicago.

Roman Reigns will next wrestle at the WWE Royal Rumble

Now, per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s being suggested that Roman’s next match will come at next year’s Royal Rumble show. However, LA Knight is reportedly not planned to be The Tribal Chief’s opponent in two months time, despite their feud continuing on SmackDown.

We were told that as of this time Reigns vs. Knight is not the title match at Rumble. That is Reigns’ next match. There are those who feel it should be Knight in that spot but we were told Levesque has another plan right now.

As of now, the direction in which Triple H is preferring to LA Knight is currently unclear, but it’s almost certain that the 41-year-old’s wild popularity is likely to continue and fans will surely want to see him rewarded with gold in the near future.

As for potential options available to Triple H, perhaps a returning AJ Styles, who has been absent with injury as of late, could be a useful opponent for Roman Reigns come 2024’s first Premium Live Event. Ultimately though, we’ll have to wait and see as to who will step up to WWE’s top champion as his next challenger.

As always, should more come out about Roman Reigns and his next title defence, GiveMeSport will keep you informed.

Current champion puts Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins on notice, teasing two dream WWE matches

Roman Reigns (left); Seth Rollins (right)

Roman Reigns (left); Seth Rollins (right)

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have been two of WWE’s most prominent superstars over the last decade. In a recent interview, Gunther confirmed he has aspirations of facing both men.

The Intercontinental Champion previously went head-to-head with Rollins on the November 8, 2019, episode of RAW. However, the four-minute bout turned into an eight-man tag team match. He also shared the ring with Reigns in a five-on-five-on-five elimination contest at Survivor Series 2019, but they have never gone one-on-one.

Gunther said on Under the Ring that he hopes to feud with Reigns and Rollins once his Intercontinental Championship reign ends:
“There’s room to grow, and whenever the time comes that I lose that title, and that time will come because nothing lasts forever, that’s [facing Reigns and Rollins] obviously the next logical step. I feel like there’s a lot of room to grow into.” [6:07 – 6:19]

Gunther recently broke The Honky Tonk Man’s record for the longest Intercontinental Championship reign of all time. On November 25, he will defend the title against The Miz at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Gunther compares Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins currently hold WWE’s top two male singles titles.

Gunther believes he would have better chemistry with Rollins, but he also looks forward to crossing paths with The Tribal Chief one day:

“Those two guys, I think it’s very different. I feel like style-wise a match with Seth would match better with me, but also I think being in the ring with Roman are completely new challenges. I think I am more similar to Roman than I am to Seth as a wrestler, but both would be fantastic match-ups and a challenge I would be happy to take on.” [6:21 – 6:51]
Gunther is currently assigned to the RAW brand alongside Rollins. Realistically, to face Reigns in the near future, he would need to win the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match or move to SmackDown.

Would you rather see Gunther take on Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins? Let us know in the comments section below.

29-year-old AEW star accepts Jey Uso’s open challenge to join WWE for a dream match

Jey Uso is a former Bloodline member

Jey Uso is a former member of The Bloodline.

WWE RAW Superstar Jey Uso recently received a response for a challenge he put out to go up against the best tag teams in the world in unquestionable dream matches.

Jey was part of the extremely successful Bloodline faction and recently split away from his family and returned to the company on the RAW brand as a babyface. While still a member of The Bloodline, Jey managed to claim a place as a main event star in the eyes of the WWE Universe and, as a result, was a major draw among the fans.

In a recent interview with Cameron Hawkins of The Ringer, Jey spoke about the fans’ demands of seeing dream bouts for The Usos against FTR, The Hardys, The Young Bucks, or any other major tag team outside of WWE. Jey made it clear that those teams would need to make their way to WWE for the matches to become a reality.

AEW star Austin Gunn of the Bullet Club Gold stable, recently reacted to Jey Uso’s challenge. The star seemingly accepted the invitation, responding to Jey’s comments.

Gunn wrote:

“Let’s run it, then.”

WWE Superstar Jey Uso expressed a wish to face Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania 40

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Jey Uso recently expressed his wish to face his twin brother, Jimmy Uso, at WrestleMania 40.

During an interview with Billboard, Jey opened up about his desire to square off against his twin brother on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Jey mentioned that Jimmy is at the top of his list of dream matches. He also expressed his delight at the thought of the bout, and noted that it would be the “No. 1 moment” in his career wi th the Stamford-based company.

“Right now, I feel like Jimmy’s at the top of the list. He’s gotta get this work. He’s still ducking me right now. He knows what it is. If I could talk from Josh and me, it’s my dream match. If this does happen, I’d be so grateful and happy.

I would just look at him, like look what we doing. Look at this! Those are special moments in the ring that nobody in the world knows. When we did the Money in the Bank with Roman [Reigns] and Solo, I was just looking at them getting a little teary-eyed like, ‘Look at us.’

That would go down as the No. 1 moment in my career, if I get to wrestle with Jimmy in the sold-out Philadelphia in front of friends and family. And I’d beat his a**,” Jey said.

It will be interesting to see what plans WWE has charted out for Jey Uso in the near future.

Triple H ‘working on deal’ for Cristiano Ronaldo WWE debut next month

Triple H is ‘working on a deal’ for Cristiano Ronaldo to make his WWE debut next month

Triple H is reportedly looking to bring Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest footballers of all time, into WWE next month.

WWE have been working alongside the Saudi Arabian government to bring professional wrestling events to the Middle Eastern country for over five years now. Their first Premium Live Event there was the ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’ which took a feature attraction match and levelled it up in order to draw as many eyes on the show itself as possible.

And now reports have stated that the wrestling giant is looking for Ronaldo, who nows plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, to make an appearance at Crown Jewel in November, WWE’s next show in the country.

What happens at WWE’s Saudi Arabia shows?

WWE’s shows in Saudi Arabia were previously focused heavily on legends of the business and showpiece clashes during their opening few events together. There was a 2018 match in which John Cena beat Triple H, and also an infamous showdown between The Undertaker and Goldberg, memorable only due to how much things went wrong for the two men in their fifties who went out to perform in the Saudi heat.

Nowadays, WWE’s venture into the Middle East is much more story-driven and based around the current ongoings in the company. While the most recent show there, taking place on the 5th of November last year, had YouTuber-turned-wrestler Logan Paul battle Roman Reigns in the main event for the company’s Undisputed Universal Title, it also had the next chapters in many of Raw and SmackDown’s hot rivalries.

The last Crown Jewel also featured a title change when it came to the Women’s Tag Team Championships, a steel cage match, and even a bout between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. Ultimately, the lineup wouldn’t look out of place alongside any of WWE’s US-based Premium Live Events and isn’t so bizarre in terms of legend involvement as to stick out either.

Treating the Saudi shows like any other pay-per-view, while also integrating celebrities such as Paul, secures the viewership of the regular WWE audience who are looking for continuity with what they see on the weekly TV and piques the interest of outside eyes who will watch for mainstream names that they know.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo make his WWE debut?

So, to capitalise on the hype around Saudi Arabia and its involvement in sport. It’s been reported by Diario AS that higher-ups in WWE are actually attempting to have Ronaldo in attendance for their next show in the country, which takes place next month.

“The WWE is looking for Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo to be present at its next ‘Crown Jewel’ event.”

It’s not clear as to whether a deal will be struck that sees five-time Ballon D’Or winner be highlighted during WWE’s next trip to Saudi Arabia, but, given that he is currently an active player for Al-Nassr and an ambassador for the country, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see CR7 used to promote the land he now calls home when the wrestling giant is next in town.

Of course, we’ve recently seen a myriad of top-level footballers and managers make the switch to the Saudi Arabian league over the course of this year’s summer transfer window. But, let’s not forget that Cristiano was the first marquee player to move to a Pro League team.

CM Punk’s Survivor Series return pop might be one of the loudest in WWE history

The reaction CM Punk’s return got from the fans at Survivor Series might be one of the loudest in WWE history

CM Punk has returned to WWE

CM Punk defied all the odds last night at Survivor Series by making his shocking return to WWE to close out the iconic Premium Live Event. The show, which was stacked from top to bottom, had already featured the return of Randy Orton to active in-ring competition in the main event.

Prior to Survivor Series, it was being reported that Triple H had announced Randy Orton’s return as a way of ensuring that the crowd didn’t hijack the main event of the PLE, as rumors had been circulating for months that Punk was on his way back to the company. If fans were expecting the former World Heavyweight Champion and instead got Orton, it had the potential to spell disaster for the main event.

‘The Game’ wasn’t done with the surprises, however. As the babyfaces were celebrating their victory in the ring, Punk’s ‘Cult of Personality’ theme song hit and ‘The Best in the World’ made his huge return. Videos are currently circulating showing the absolutely deafening ovation that CM Punk received.

CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023

The official video of CM Punk’s WWE return on YouTube has gone viral and, as of this writing, is a top trend all over the world, peaking at #1. The video has already amassed almost two million views. The clip is captioned “Former WWE Champion CM Punk sends the WWE Universe into a frenzy with a stunning return at Survivor Series: WarGames” and that is an understatement.

Survivor Series was held at the legendary Allstate Arena, meaning WWE couldn’t have picked a better venue for CM Punk’s return than Punk’s own stomping grounds. As the babyface team were celebrating their victory over Judgment Day in the main event, ‘Cult of Personality’ sounded out and was almost immediately drowned out by a deafening reaction from the hungry Chicago crowd, who were, as the caption mentions, thrown into a frenzy, resulting in one of the loudest pops in wrestling history.

VIDEO: CM Punk’s WWE return generated one of the loudest pops in WWE history

Electricity was apparent as soon as his music hit, but the fans in attendance went absolutely insane when ‘The Best in the World’ himself stepped through the curtain and appeared on stage., something that WWE tried its hardest to covince fans couldn’t be happening in the weeks leading up to Survivor Series.

Punk, who looked to be in incredible shape, took more than a few moments to absorb the excitement before breaking out his classic entrance moves, with the fans eating every moment. It felt as though the entire arena joined Punk in announcing ‘Clobberin’ time’ before Punk fired himself up and began interacting with the front-row audience and asked everyone ‘whose town is this?’ to another thunderous reaction.

The official WWE video of CM Punk’s return isn’t the only one doing the rounds. Fans all over social media have been sharing their own footage showing the truly deafening ovation that Punk was given following his surprise appearance to close out the Premium Live Event.

WWE Superstars are angry over CM Punk’s return

Following his surprise WWE return, CM Punk is expected to enter straight into the main event and begin a feud with the current World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. The rivalry is expected to begin on Raw next week, and lead to a match at the Royal Rumble in January.

Rollins, who in the past has expressed his legitimate dislike of Punk, has been dropping hints about Punk on television for months since Punk was fired by AEW, and it currently looks like WWE Creative is going to go ahead with that feud.

It is being reported that CM Punk’s WWE return was kept a secret from almost everyone in the company, with even the superstars competing in the main event not being made aware of it until it was time to go out. There have been reports that people involved, including Rollins, were genuinely upset about Triple H’s decision to have Punk return and close out the show.

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre, who was also part of the main event, reportedly ‘stormed out’ of Survivor Series after the main event and was furious over Punk coming back to WWE. While some speculated that it was a work, reliable reporters have claimed that the Scotsman legitimately wasn’t happy.

GIVEMESPORT will keep you in the loop with the plans for CM Punk’s WWE return as soon as more information becomes available, but if the immense pop that Punk received from the WWE Universe is anything to go by, this has the potential to be a massive comeback run for the man known as ‘the Best in the World’.

Top WWE star legitimately ‘stormed out’ of Survivor Series after CM Punk returned

A top WWE Superstar is believed to have legitimately ‘stormed out’ of Survivor Series after the return of CM Punk

CM Punk has returned to WWE

Drew McIntyre was reportedly incredibly angry immediately as a result of CM Punk’s shocking WWE return and immediately left the AllState Arena, the venue for Survivor Series, after it happened.

Last night, 17,138 fans filed into the AllState Arena in Chicago to watch the 37th annual Survivor Series. It was the second consecutive installment of the thanksgiving tradition to feature the War Games stipulation, as, on the men’s side of things, McIntyre teamed up with Judgment Day to battle the babyface team of Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins and a returning Randy Orton.

When it came down to it, it was ‘The American Nightmare’ planting Damian Priest with a ‘Cross Rhodes’ in order to seal the win for his team. However, coming out of the event, there’s only one thing dominating the world of wrestling; the return of CM Punk to WWE.

CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series

As the babyface team were celebrating their triumphant win inside of the War Games structure, the iconic static blasted over the speakers and ‘Cult of Personality’ hit during a WWE event for the first time in almost ten years and the ‘Straight Edge Saviour’ made an emphatic comeback.

As expected, the fans in Chicago came unglued to welcome their hometown icon back to WWE, with the returning star hugging several members of the audience near the stage and loud ‘CM Punk’ chants breaking out over the top of his entrance theme, but it doesn’t seem as if the pure joy experienced by the majority of fans was shared by some members of the roster.

VIDEO: CM Punk returned to WWE at the end of Survivor Series 2023

Drew McIntyre ‘stormed out’ of Survivor Series 2023

Immediately following the shock return, fan footage emerged of Seth, who was seemingly legitimately furious at the arrival of CM Punk, and news has now broken on Drew being angry following the conclusion of Survivor Series. Per PWInsider, the Scotsman ‘stormed out’ of last night’s Premium Live Event in what was described as a ‘loud and obvious situation’.

‘Drew McIntyre stormed out of the ring after the end of the War Games match that closed Survivor Series. McIntyre stormed into the back, slammed his locker room door, threw on a Hoodie and immediately left the Allstate Arena.

It was obvious to everyone that McIntyre was angry, but no word yet as to why. It was such a loud and obvious situation that a lot of people witnessed it and it’s become a subject of conversation over the last hour.’

At the time news of McIntyre’s exit broke, the reason behind his alleged bad mood wasn’t clear, but it was reported by Sean Ross Sapp that talent were only told of CM Punk’s impending return just before the entrances for main event began, so it’s entirely plausible that Drew was letting his frustrations out after having to compete before being able to process the news of Punk’s comeback.

That’s not all, as Fightful is also reporting that sources have informed them that McIntyre storming out of the arena following the culmination of last night’s show was ‘linked’ to Punk’s return to WWE, as it seems like he wasn’t too happy with the former World Heavyweight Champion being welcomed back into the company.

CM Punk has returned to WWE

The 45-year-old is someone who has divided opinion everywhere he’s been, and comes into WWE off the back of two backstage incidents in AEW which ultimately led to his firing.

So, as much as it appears as if members of the roster are genuinely unhappy heading out of Survivor Series, we have to mention the possibility that WWE is playing off what happened with Punk in AEW and creating storylines of backstage unrest, but that’s far from confirmed.

We don’t yet know more about the nature of the atmosphere behind the scenes, and the situation is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming days and weeks.

As always, as more comes out about Drew McIntyre storming out of Survivor Series, GiveMeSport will keep you informed.

Cameraman caught signaling WWE star to leave before CM Punk’s return

Did you catch the cameraman’s gesture?

A WWE cameraman was seen waving at a superstar to leave before CM Punk came out at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023.

Punk’s big return has taken pro wrestling by storm. Fans are still dumbstruck over the fact that the veteran is back in WWE after nine long years.

As previously reported, Drew McIntyre immediately left the ring after the Men’s WarGames match. Now, fans have pointed out that a WWE cameraman was waving at McIntyre to leave before CM Punk came out for his return.

McIntyre was visibly unhappy while he was leaving the ringside area and heading backstage. Shortly after, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that The Scottish Warrior was visibly upset even backstage after the show went off the air and left the building.

Only time will tell what the deal is with McIntyre. Judging by the video of the cameraman signaling McIntyre to leave, it looks like the entire situation is a big work to create more buzz following Punk’s return.

Seth Rollins was upset over Punk’s return as well and could be seen giving him the middle finger.

What do you think? Is McIntyre’s walkout a work?

Is Randy Orton eligible for the WWE Draft 2023? Latest injury update on The Viper

WWE Draft 2023: Randy Orton will be a gem for any brand

With the WWE Draft 2023 just a few weeks away, the eligibility of Randy Orton for the event is in question. The former World Heavyweight Champion has been out of action for almost a year, with his wrestling return up in the air, but some positives can be taken out of the upcoming draft.

Panic overcame the WWE Universe when The Viper got shelved due to a serious back injury. He was last seen on the May 20 edition of SmackDown, being led by medical officials out of the arena. In late-2022, it was reported that the multi-time World Champion underwent fusion surgery in Birmingham. He is now getting home rest and looks in great condition.

Will Randy Orton’s injury cause him to miss out on the WWE Draft 2023? That is not the case. Triple H mentioned in his SmackDown speech that each superstar will be eligible for the draft. Even those who are injured/absent will be part of it unless stated otherwise in the upcoming flagship shows.

Superstars, who the company believes will be sidelined for an extended period of time, could initially go undrafted in the WWE Draft 2023 until they are capable of a long-term wrestling run.

This has happened in the past. This will also provide insight into the future of wrestlers like Randy Orton, Big E, and AJ Styles.

Randy Orton’s injury came at an unfortunate time. He was on the verge of a high-profile rivalry with The Bloodline and supposedly passed up the opportunity to co-headline SummerSlam 2022 with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

When will The Viper target his 15th World Championship? Only time will tell.

How could Randy Orton’s return be booked after WWE Draft 2023?

Triple H hasn’t mentioned the exact timeline for Draft 2023 as of yet. However, WRKD Wrestling stated that it is being planned to be on the May 8 edition of RAW following the Backlash Premium Live Event.

On that basis, Randy Orton could return at Backlash and immediately involve himself in a feud with either a RAW or SmackDown Superstar. His best bet is to stay in the red brand alongside Matt Riddle, who hinted at a feud with The Miz.

Riddle’s program with The A-Lister may lead up to Backlash, giving Orton the perfect opportunity for a grand comeback that tilts the scale in the babyface’s favor.

The reunited duo could then get into a rivalry with the Street Profits, who are coming off a huge victory after winning the WrestleMania Showcase Match.

CM Punk and Randy Orton receive three-word message from female WWE star

CM Punk (left); Randy Orton (right)

A female WWE star has sent a message to CM Punk and Randy Orton upon their returns at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Randy Orton made his return at Survivor Series: WarGames and competed in the Men’s WarGames match. After The Viper and his team won the match, CM Punk made his huge return to WWE after nine long years.

Soon after, Zelina Vega took to Twitter and sent a three-word message to both Orton and Punk: “Welcome back boys.”

Check out her heartfelt tweet below:

“Two kings, one night. Welcome back boys. 👏🏽 @RandyOrton @CMPunk #WWESurvivorSeries.”

WWE has taken the pro wrestling world by storm by bringing back both Orton and Punk on the same night. For years on end, fans were convinced that Punk would never make a return to the Stamford-based promotion.

He finally made his AEW debut two years ago and was terminated by Tony Khan earlier this year under controversial circumstances.

As for Randy Orton, he was out with a back injury for more than a year. He finally made his return tonight and is looking as healthy as ever.

What was your immediate reaction to seeing both Orton and CM Punk return to WWE tonight?
