CM Punk’s first feud & match since WWE return revealed in new report

Triple H’s plans for CM Punk’s first match and feud since his return to WWE have leaked online

In professional wrestling, you’re always told to ‘never say never’, and that has been proven again recently as CM Punk made a historic return to WWE almost ten years after he quit the company in highly controversial circumstances. It was an unbelievable moment that had fans all over the world going wild.

The prospect of seeing the former AEW Champion back in WWE is pretty crazy and the thought of all the unbelievable dream matches that could potentially be on the cards is enough to get even the most casual of wrestling fans hyped up. Whether it’s Chad Gable, Sami Zayn, LA Knight or Gunther, there are a number of potential bouts that would steal the show.

Considering Punk left WWE in 2014, a lot has changed, and it remains to be seen what sort of push he’ll receive. Looking at the level of reaction he received from the crowd in attendance and fans online, it’s pretty clear that his star power is just as intense as it was when he left all those years ago. Fans might have been concerned about how hard he’ll be pushed now that he’s back, but it now seems like his first feud back has been confirmed, and it’s a pretty good one.

CM Punk & Seth Rollins are set to feud with each other

Shortly after the ‘Best in the World’ made his return, the wrestling world went wild, thrilled at the idea of seeing him back inside a WWE ring. One man who didn’t quite have that reaction, though, is Seth Rollins, who was captured on camera looking very angry at Punk’s appearance.

The former Shield member has been very vocal about his disdain for Punk in the past, even calling him a ‘cancer’ during a recent interview, and it initially looked like he was very unhappy that he’d returned. However, according to the Wrestling Observer, the reaction is actually to set up a new rivalry between the two men, and it will likely be the first big program for the 45-year-old now that he’s back.

A rivalry between the two would guarantee fireworks and is one of the biggest possible stories that WWE could run right now. It’s only fitting then, that the plan is reportedly for the two to meet at one of the company’s biggest shows of the year.

Seth Rollins v CM Punk is set for the Royal Rumble

Now that Survivor Series is wrapped up, there isn’t another WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) until the end of January when the Royal Rumble returns, kicking off the road to WrestleMania. The current plan, according to reliable source Kerrmit125 on Reddit, is for the two men to face off against one another at the show.

Whether it’s for Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship or not remains to be seen, but we can only imagine the incredible story that we’re about to watch unfold if the reports are true and the two men are actually going to face off in Punk’s return feud. After a decade away, WWE is wasting no time with the former Money in the Bank winner, giving us one of the best possible feuds right off the bat, and we can’t wait to watch it unfold.

Randy Orton got visibly emotional before doing signature pose on WWE Raw return

Randy Orton got visibly emotional before doing his signature pose on return to WWE Raw

When it comes to the WWE, there is a very short list of Superstars who are in a league of their own, achieving true icon status. Randy Orton is most definitely one of them, with over 20 years of in-ring action under his belt, he is one of the most decorated Superstars in the company’s history. 14 World Championship titles later, Orton is now 43, with public appearances slowing down significantly in recent years.

With the likes of Triple H and The Undertaker both retiring in the last few years, Orton remains one of the few legends still active from the glory days of WWE. Just after the Attitude Era had finished for good, out came the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton.

One recently returned for a sporadic run, while the other has now returned for ’10 more years’ if you believe what he said at the end of Survivor Series.

After almost two years out of action due to back surgery, Orton made a shocking return to the ring this past weekend, at one of WWE’s biggest events of the year, Survivor Series.

His entrance would lead to an insane crowd reaction, and he looked in insane shape as he took part in the remainder of the Survivor Series WarGames battle.

Randy Orton returned to WWE at Survivor Series

Randy Orton gets emotional on Raw return

Fans were hesitant that this may be just a brief cameo from The Viper, but last night saw Orton return again, this time on Monday Night Raw, and emotions were even higher.

Orton would once again get a crazy pop from the crowd as the entrance music blasted through the arena. This time, you could tell he wanted to make the most of this moment, returning to Raw where he has so much history.

A video has since gone viral showing just how emotional Orton was as he made his way inside the ring. Just as he was about to hit his famous in-ring pose, he put his hands to his face, shaking his head in disbelief, before finally hitting his Viper pose, with the crowd going wild.

Randy Orton’s physique at Survivor Series after 554 days away from WWE was genuinely insane

Talks are now stirring among the WWE community that this return from Orton could be a permanent one, with lots of chatter about the Superstar wanting to fight for another 10 years! That would take him well into his 50s, but honestly, with how insane his physique and skill levels look, another 10 years looks very much doable.

Either way, fans are trying not to get too carried away by this return, and just enjoy it for what it is, rather than anticipating how long Orton will be back for.

After CM Punk’s even more shocking return this past weekend, it seems as though the WWE could be looking to legends of the past to bring some noise back to the current roster. Fans are certainly not complaining and will be hoping for more nostalgic performances from Orton and co.

With the epic Royal Rumble on the horizon, could the WWE have something special up their sleeves involving Orton? Only time will tell

Paul scored a pin-fall victory over Mysterio at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.

He said afterwards: “It feels amazing. I’m shocked and I want to stay humble but f*** that, it’s so much more fun to be arrogant about it!

“This [belt] ain’t leaving my side. This is one of the biggest accomplishments of my life. I’m gonna take over this industry bro.

“I’m gonna be the best and I’ve got to keep work really hard.”

It seems Paul quite literally stuck to his vow not to let go of the WWE gold.

He uploaded a series of pictures wearing the title around his waist in the shower and running machine.

And Paul also snugged up to supermodel fiancee Nina Agdal wearing the gold – with the naked post leaving fans in stitches.

One said: “Bro made sure no one wears the belt after him.”

Another added: “No one is wearing that belt after the last pic.”

One joked: “Ain’t no one gonna be touching that belt for a while.”

Paul tasted his first piece of gold in the WWE and vowed to become the next big thing.

He said: “Something is so appetising about the idea of doing the best I can in this industry.

“And I know the best I can do to become the face of the WWE, is to become the undisputed universal champion.”
