Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson shares heartbreaking story of how he overcame hate from WWE fans; life-changing request to Vince McMahon

The Rock is a 17-time champion in WWE

WWE Superstar The Rock recently shared a heartbreaking story of how he overcame hate from fans when he initially started his career.

Dwayne Johnson’s initial gimmick in World Wrestling Entertainment did not sit well with fans, even as a babyface he used to get booed every night. Johnson faced negative reactions during the rise of The Attitude Era with superstars like Stone Cold Steve Austin positive reactions as more edgy characters. The People’s Champ wasn’t a fan of his character either and wanted to do his own thing.

On the latest edition of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, The Rock revealed that he asked Vince McMahon to let him go out there with the mic and talk to the fans as he wanted to get on the fans’ good side.

“So I said to Vince, ‘Hey tonight when I go out there, could I just have two minutes on the microphone?’ And he’s like ‘I don’t know, it’s live, you know all our time’s accounted for, allocated’. I said, ‘I just need 2 minutes’. He goes, ‘Why?’ I said, ‘I just want to be real and just tell the fans how I feel and I feel like I need to recalibrate things here’. He said, ‘Fine a minute you got’.” [2:01:36 – 2:02:00]

The former WWE Champion further revealed how his mic skills helped him overcome the hate from fans and ultimately become one of the best heels in the business.

“Dude, that was the most freeing thing for me and my career, it was like you know how you have these defining moments? Even in that one little moment, I was just fu**ing ripping all this open, here I am. Now you can fu**ing boo me but now watch how I respond. F**k the smiling, I’ll smile when I want to smile… The fans felt something that night. Within a month, I became the hottest heel in WWE.” [2:02:21 – 2:02:58]

The Rock revealed that Vince McMahon wanted to protect his face in WWE

In the same podcast, The Rock revealed that Vince McMahon told him to stay away from razor blades while developing his skills in Tennessee as the latter did not want the former WWE Champion to mess up his face.
“As I’m leaving Vince McMahon’s office, he says, hey by the way, don’t go down there and cut your forehead up with razor blades. I went, okay got it. Because in wrestling there was a time, that’s how you bled with razor blades. He [McMahon] goes, I want to protect this [The Rock’s face]. All right then! Years later, I’m fu**ing doing this up in WWE.” [1:51:06 – 1:51:33]

Dwayne Johnson jokingly revealed his college nickname as well. You can check it out here.

The Rock recalls nearly quitting WWE; reveals massive Vince McMahon admission

The Rock on the left, Vince McMahon on the right

WWE Superstar The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) recently recalled nearly quitting the company back when he started his career in the Stamford-based promotion.

The People’s Champion joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 1996 under the ring name Rocky Maivia. The WWE Universe knows him as one of the greatest heels in the pro wrestling world. However, that wasn’t the case when he started his career, as he was introduced as a babyface, which did not sit well with fans during the rise of The Attitude Era.

On the latest edition of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, The Rock talked about his gimmick as a babyface. He further explained how people started booing him because Vince McMahon told him to smile even if he lost a match. This led to him wanting to leave WWE and join PRIDE.

“So you have this thing happening over here, the rise of The Attitude Era, and then you have this kid who’s just smiling away, everything is good, even when he fu**ing loses and it never felt right to me, and then fans started to turn, booing every night. Going into my first WrestleMania, Chicago. I’ll never forget it, every night they were chanting Rocky s**ks and I had to smile through it.”

Dwayne Johnson further revealed that Vince McMahon admitted that he did something wrong with The Rock’s character and wanted to make a change. However, The People’s Champion got hurt during a match, and McMahon told him to take some time off, hinting at possibly letting him go off his contract.

“Vince looks at me [after the match at WrestleMania 13] and Pat [Patterson] and just says I don’t know what we did wrong, but we have to make a change. Two days later I drop the belt to somebody else. Now I’m getting beat every night and then I get hurt.

I tear my PCL against Mick Foley. By this time it’s May, and Vince says take time off, heal your knee. I don’t know what we did wrong or where we went wrong but we got to really figure things out with you. I don’t know if this is going to work out.” [1:58:30 – 1:59:06]

You can check out the whole podcast below:

The Rock revealed what Vince McMahon told him after his second WWE match

In the same podcast, The Rock revealed that Vince McMahon told him to go down to Tennessee for development after his second WWE match as the latter wanted him to work on his craft.
“[After my second match] I met with Vince.

He said, you’re not ready for WWE, you’re not ready for the big time. I’m going to send you down to Tennessee, and that’s where you’re going to learn how to work. He said, but you’re going to go down there, you learn how to cut your teeth down there, learn how to work, learn the business and when you’re ready, if you’re ready, I’ll bring you up.” [1:50:37 – 1:51:02]

Fans want Johnson to return to WWE and confront Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. It remains to be seen if that will happen or not.

Hollywood’s most terrible The Rock turns into a responsible father: Doing nails, doing hair, compressing his muscular body to sit and enjoy tea with his daughter

No matter how busy “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson is, he takes advantage of all the time he can to spend with his daughter.

Dwayne Johnson , also known by his stage name The Rock , is a world-famous actor with blockbuster films such as Jumanji, Fast & Furious… , producer and former American professional wrestler. In addition, he also has another special “position” as… father of 3 daughters.

Dwayne pampers and loves his daughter to the point of spending all his free time with his family, from the most “terrorist” actor in Hollywood to becoming a genuine dad with a series of super adorable and equally humorous images.

Looking at the scene of the muscular The Rock sitting in a corner playing with dolls, tying his child’s hair, the wrestler’s body “squeezed” on a bright pink table and chairs to enjoy tea with his daughter…, people couldn’t help but feel excited. laughed, and at the same time admired the actor’s love for his family.

The burly father patiently assembled his two daughters in a room full of pink things: “Here it is, it should be assembled like this”

Tiana’s reluctant hair stylist. The father was completely focused, while the “customer” immediately showed the expression “Mom, save me”

In real life, dad is a shark, in the house, he’s just a small fish. Who would have thought that a wrestler who defeated so many serious opponents would be “defeated” in a world full of teddy bears? All because of the two little princesses’ grins from ear to ear

Watching the movie 987 times is still like new to father and son. Little “Rock” sat huddled next to big “Rock”, father and son were immersed in the world of cartoons

The tea party had a “rough” part by “mistress” Tiana with special guest The Rock. Looking at the picture, I just burst out laughing, afraid that the pink chair would collapse because of its “terrorist” body with lots of tattoos. At this rate, who would dare to be the third guest to enjoy tea with the father and son?

When I go out and talk about cars, when I get home I have to immediately talk to teddy bears, dolls and my little daughter. Fans even joked that if the actor just coughed once, the poor doll would break

Not only is he a tea customer, The Rock is now also a regular customer of the nail salon opened for girls

Sometimes when nail salons run out of nail polish, customers are still very satisfied with colored markers, without any frustration at all.

Come on, let’s “makeup artist” Tiana transform your angry, hot-tempered face into a cute, cute one.”

The Rock also had to try his best to find a place for his child to go to the toilet in an emergency, handling the situation of crying and laughing very fluently!

Actor The Rock always tries to spend as much time with his children as possible: “Some days I only have 3 hours to rest but my daughter keeps wanting me to hold her. There’s nothing better than the feeling of holding my daughter in my arms. . I have to take advantage of every moment I can to be with my children.” For the actor, there is no more important duty than that of a father, and there is nothing more sacred than hugging and comforting his children.

Many people may want to have a son, but for Dwayne, his three daughters are precious gifts that make his life wonderful. The actor with the most athletic body in Hollywood also had to “submit” to the innocence and mischief of two children.

The Rock’s love for his daughter always touches and admires the audience. On Instagram, the actor wrote a sweet message: “Every grown man needs a daughter.”

Tiana and Jasmine attentively listened to their “giant” father talk about his scars while filming

With a father like this, surely no one would dare touch the two little girls!

After divorcing his first wife, he married for the second time after 13 years of dating singer Lauren Hashian. Currently, the actor’s small family has two little princesses, Tiana (2 years old) and Jasmine (5 years old). Referring to his happy home, Dwayne shared: “My number 1 priority is protecting my family and children.”

Rhea Ripley has been a dominant force on WWE RAW for months, but could she meet a ghost from her past at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2023?

Zoey Stark recently won a #1 contender’s match for the Women’s World Championship. She has the caliber to dethrone Rhea Ripley, but if she comes short, Mami could meet her former rival at the upcoming Premium Live Event.

Liv Morgan has been out with a legitimate injury, and there is no evident date for her return. While her comeback is just speculation for now, everything is possible in the world of professional wrestling.

Could Liv Morgan be in the best shape if she returns to confront Rhea Ripley at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2023?

“I’m actually out injured right now and aside from healing up, my focus has been on my nutrition, so it’s been really exciting honing in on that. I want to come back in the very best shape of my life, so right now, I am eating clean, tons of fresh fruits and veggies. I’m basing my carb intake on the amount of physicality and energy I expend each day. I do believe life is about balance, though, so I still order a cheeky little dessert with dinner sometimes,” said Morgan [H/T: Fightful]

“Your punches they f*cking s*ck”: WWE Legend Had the Most Brutal Verdict on Dwayne Johnson After His First Ever WWE Match

Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson recalled WWE legend Pat Patterson’s critical remark about his punches

Before he made his mark in Hollywood, Dwayne Johnson was a prominent figure in the world of wrestling. Initially rising to fame as a WWE star, he transitioned seamlessly into the film industry and became one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. He has been quite open about the highs and lows of his journey to stardom, which includes a shift from football to convincing his father to let him pursue a career in wrestling.

He eventually made his debut in 1996 with the guidance of some influential figures in his life, which included his father, Rocky Johnson, and the WWE legend, Pat Patterson. And during a recent conversation with Joe Rogan, the Baywatch star recalled that Patterson criticized his punches after his first-ever WWE match.

Dwayne Johnson Recalled Pat Patterson’s Critical Remark

Dwayne Johnson has earlier shared how Pat Patterson was the one who suggested his name to Vince McMahon while he was training. During his recent interview on The Joe Rogan Experience, he recalled the late WWE star’s verdict on his first-ever match.

Dwayne Johnson on The Joe Rogan Experience

He had his first-ever match against The Brooklyn Brawler, which he won. The actor shared that as he came backstage, everyone, including Vince McMahon, started congratulating him and told him that he did a great job.

“I see Vince McMahon, he says, ‘You did a good job, but be prepared, I’m gonna give you a little bit more tomorrow,’” he recalled. However, when it came to the former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Pat Patterson, he had some critical notes on Johnson’s punching technique.

“I see Pat Patterson smoking a cigarette. ‘Come here for a second.’ And he goes, ‘Your punches, they f*cking suck,’” he shared. Patterson then told him that among many things that he needs to learn to make it big in this business, he would significantly need to learn to throw a great punch.

Dwayne Johnson Believed He Blew His Chance to Impress Pat Patterson

Talking to Joe Rogan, Dwayne Johnson shared that after three months of training, his father called Pat Patterson, who was known as Vince McMahon’s right-hand man at the time. The actor shared that he told him that he was training to get into the “wrestling business.”

The Jumanji star convinced Patterson to review his training. He agreed and came to see him train and asked him to work as a heel. Johnson did as he was advised, however, when he asked for his remarks, the former WWE Champion told him to keep working.

“Did I just f*ck?” Johnson recalled questioning himself, believing that he blew off his chance to impress such an influential figure in the business. However, Patterson had other plans for him, as he went home and called McMahon, telling him, “You got to see this f*cking kid.” And the rest is history, as Dwayne Johnson went on to become The Rock and later emerged as one of the biggest names in the film industry.

“They’re telling me to f*cking smile”: Dwayne Johnson Felt Miserable in WWE While Earning $150,000, Wanted to Quit For a Lucrative MMA Career in PRIDE

The actor began his professional wrestling career in the WWE and is still loyal to the federation.

Dwayne Johnson is a worldwide superstar and is one of the highest-grossing actors in the world. The star is known for his blockbusters such as Jungle Cruise, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Hercules, and Red Notice. He is one of the most influential actors working in Hollywood right now.

Johnson started his career as a wrestler, known as The Rock in the World Wrestling Federation. He became well-known for his fights and was known for his infamous feud with fellow wrestler and actor John Cena. However, the wrestler struggled initially and confessed that he planned on entertaining the MMA at one point in his career.

How Did Dwayne Johnson Get Into Wrestling?

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson came from a line of professional wrestlers and his father Rocky Johnson was part of the WWE himself. His father was one-half of the first black tag-team champions in the WWE. Johnson’s mother was the adopted daughter of Peter Maivia, a professional wrestler belonging to the Polynesian Anoa’i wrestling family.

Johnson began training for a wrestling career soon after he was cut from the 1995 season of the football team Calgary Stampeders. He revealed on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast that his father was discouraging by his choice to pursue wrestling initially, but eventually came around.

The Jungle Cruise star revealed on the podcast,

“He used to wake me up and take me to the gym when I was 5…that is how I really got to bond with my Dad. He did not want me to do it [wrestling]. We got into the biggest f*cking fight…It ultimately got to a place where I said, ‘Either you are going to help train me…or I’ll go to somebody else.’”

Johnson made his debut in 1996 after WWF Vice President Pat Patterson put him in tryout matches before the show. Johnson then began to wrestle full-time and stayed in the WWE for seven years until he took his first retirement after starting his acting career.

Dwayne Johnson Considered Going To MMA To Earn More Money

Dwayne Johnson as The Rock

Dwayne Johnson has always stayed loyal to the WWE and has returned to the ring multiple times after his retirement. However, the wrestler had trouble initially with his character as he was hated by the fans. Johnson was called Rocky Maivia back when he started in 1997 and he revealed that he was booed off stage after a match.

The Rampage star revealed that he was being told to smile all the time in the ring despite receiving punches while he wanted to explore a more rebellious character like Stone Cold Steve Austin. The wrestler took a break after he suffered a knee injury during a fight and Johnson revealed that he came across many MMA fighters while he was recovering.

Dwayne Johnson

Johnson revealed on the Joe Rogan Experience that he would see MMA fighters who were part of the PRIDE organization, who were earning much more than he was. Johnson claimed that he actually considered leaving the WWE and entering the MMA. He said,

“At that time, I was making $150,000 wrestling 235 days a year…We start hearing, ‘these guys in PRIDE are making $250,000, $350,000, $500,000.’ I thought then, ‘F*ck, I don’t think I’m going to make it in WWE. People are booing me out of the arenas. I can’t be myself. They’re telling me to f*cking smile, I don’t want to f*cking smile. That’s not who I am.’”

He mentioned that he spoke to some of the PRIDE MMA fighters such as Ken Shamrock and Mark Kerr to give him more information about the industry. Dwayne Johnson almost gave up on the idea of WWE after he was booed off stage, but eventually returned. He would become one of its biggest stars.

THE END John Cena teases next career move with cryptic post after crushing defeat to Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel

Many WWE fans believe John Cena is set to retire

WWE legend John Cena teased an imminent retirement after his latest crushing defeat to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel.

Cena faced Sikoa in Saudi Arabia last week and suffered a devastating loss that saw The Bloodline member bludgeoning the future Hall of Famer with a series of Samoan Spikes.

The 16-time world champion barely managed to get back up to his feet after the bell as he received a standing ovation from the crowd in Riyadh.

WWE commentator Michael Cole then dropped a strong retirement hint by stating: “Now will Solo Sikoa’s record show that he was the one who retired John Cena?”

This goes down as yet another major blow as The Leader of the Cenation hasn’t won a Singles Match since 2018.

The Champ hasn’t been seen since the beatdown he suffered in the Middle East and got the WWE Universe rattled on social media with another cryptic post on Instagram.

The 46-year-old shared a Looney Tunes-themed graphic which had “The End” written on it.

Some fans took to the comments’ section begging Cena not to retire as they think this is a sign he’s done in the ring.

However, many others correctly pointed out that the ex-WWE Champion, who often winds wrestling enthusiasts up on Instagram, is probably pointing out at the end of the strike in Hollywood.

The actors’ strike came to an end on Wednesday after a deal between SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP was agreed upon, which means the former World Heavyweight Champion can return to acting.

One fan posted: “Noo!!! Don’t do that Cena.”

Another commented: “Miss you already.”

A third said: “Don’t make me rip that new movie script up out your hand! You still got more in the tank!”

This fan wrote: “If this was the final match, man. I respect it. Giving everyone a push. John. You made my childhood.”

Cena, though, often shares cryptic posts and is probably just returning to Hollywood

And that one stated: “The end of the strike, not his career.”

Cena is still very passionate about wrestling and the future of the business, which is why he puts over young talent so often.

But the American grappler’s recent return was down to the strike which freed up his schedule.

Now that the ban is lifted it is unlikely fans will see the heavyweight athlete any time soon.

However, there is still no concrete indication this is indeed the end of his glittering 24-year career.

The ex-NXT Women’s Champion has crossed over to modelling after leaving professional wrestling last year and even started an OnlyFans page.

Rose posted on social media: “Howdy.”

The 33-year-old left her 3.5million followers in awe and her post attracted over 137,000 likes.

And of course her supporters stormed the comments section to compliment her for her choice of outfit.

One fan posted: “Giddy uppp.”

Another commented: “Are you Trish Stratus for Halloween?”

A third wrote: “Yeehaw!”

This fan said: “Love the outfit! Looks great on you.”

And that one gushed: “Good lawd.”

Rose was flying high on NXT as the developmental brand’s Women’s Champion, a title she held for a staggering 413 days.

However, the ex-RAW star was let go due to explicit content posted on her fan account.

It is claimed WWE bosses were “put in a tough position” with some of the content from the former SmackDown wrestler’s FanTime page, which they deemed was outside of the parameters of her contract.

The New Yorker was reportedly making “more money” from her content than as a WWE star.

Inside John Cena’s feud with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as WWE legend apologises for ‘violating Hollywood star’s trust’

JOHN CENA has apologised for “violating” Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s trust after years of bad blood between the two WWE legends.

The Rock, 51, became one of the most recognisable faces on the planet during the WWE Attitude Era days in the 1990s.

He then left full-time wrestling to make the transition to the silver screen and became Hollywood’s highest-earning actor.

That opened up room in the wrestling business for a new superstar to emerge, and Cena took that opportunity with both hands in the 2000s.

But when the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment returned to WWE in 2011 one of the most memorable feuds of all-time began – and the tension was very real.

WHAT TRIGGERED IT?

Back 13 years ago it was the Leader of the Cenation who was undoubtedly top dog in the wrestling business.

Already a multi-time world champion, Cena had faced and beaten almost every top star in the business.

However, away from the ring, he had publicly criticised The Rock for leaving behind the squared circle and ditching his fans to pursue a career as an actor in Hollywood.

ROCK’S REACTION

The Rock came back to WWE in 2011 and was announced as host for WrestleMania – but he instantly took aim at Cena’s remarks, starting the unforgettable rivalry.

After a confrontation between the pair and being hit with the Attitude Adjustment by Cena, Rock then cost his rival the WWE Title in the Mania main event to The Miz.

The very next evening on Monday Night Raw the pair agreed to a match.

But it would not be until the main event of the following year’s WrestleMania.

THE BIG MATCH

After teaming up at Survivor Series in November, the build-up to their showdown swang into gear with months of verbal jousting and humiliating insults.

The Rock then beat Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII in an event that broke the record for the biggest professional wrestling pay-per-view buyrate.

The Great One then promised to go on and become WWE champion again.

THE REMATCH

The Rock beat CM Punk at the Royal Rumble in 2013 to reclaim the championship but he was soon confronted by a familiar face.

Seeking revenge for the previous year’s disappointment, Cena challenged his arch-nemesis to a rematch at WrestleMania 29 for the title.

The heat between the pair continued for weeks in the build-up with lots more personal insults traded.

However, this time it would be Cena who had his hand raised to become champion again.

The Rock agonisingly tore his abdominal and adductor tendons from his pelvis during the bout and was forced to undergo surgery.

CENA GOES HOLLYWOOD

Cena, while still making appearances in WWE, was becoming more-and-more popular worldwide and soon Hollywood was knocking on his door.

He became part-time in WWE as he made huge strides in the movie industry, starring in comedies such as Trainwreck, Blockers and Daddy’s Home as well as Transformers spin-off Bumblebee.

And he even followed in his former rival’s footsteps by appearing in the Fast and Furious franchise, F9.

THE MAKE-UP

Over the years since, both men have made sporadic returns to WWE and praised each other since their two epic battles.

Cena even came to the rescue of Rock at WrestleMania 32 when the Bryatt Family were about to attack after the latter had beaten Erick Rowan in just six seconds.

And, just last month, Rock made a shock comeback to WWE after four years away to lay the smack down on Austin Theory.

Cena is also currently back wrestling amid the Hollywood actor strikes and the pair were involved a heartwarming exchange backstage.

“Welcome home,” Cena told The Rock.

To which the smiling icon responded: “Good to be here.”

THE APOLOGY

Cena teamed up with LA Knight to beat The Bloodline at last weekend’s Fastlane pay-per-view event and attended the post-show press conference.

And when asked what he would say if a current star criticised him for going Hollywood in the same way he did The Rock, the 6-year-old admitted that he had got it totally wrong all those years ago.

He said: “I 100% see and understand that perspective and if you’ve been following what I’ve tried to do, especially as of late, both publicly and personally to Dwayne Johnson, I’ve stated that, although I thought I was trying to do what’s best for business, I went about it the wrong way.

“I violated his trust and I made allegations about his perspective that I knew nothing about. And deep down, I was a fan. I wanted The Rock back. I wanted to do anything to get The Rock back, but I did it the wrong way, I didn’t do it the respectful way.

“I had to eat a little bit of crow. I had to say ‘I’m sorry and I was wrong,’ because I am sorry and I was wrong, and that’s a very humbling experience.”

Cena continued: “Dwayne is a hell of a guy. We had a conversation. We’ve grown.

“I was able to welcome him home, which was like a full true circle moment.”

Cena then added: “You’re right when you say people now say I became who I despised. I see that perspective and I understand it.

“It’s very difficult for people who are all into the WWE universe to see anything else that goes on but here. But we all have our own struggles, we all live our own lives.

“It was a great learning experience from my mistake with feuding with The Rock.”
