Seth Rollins to be removed from Cody Rhodes’ WarGames team ahead of Survivor Series 2023? Exploring the chances

Seth Rollins is slated to fight at Survivor Series 2023.

Seth Rollins is slated to fight at Survivor Series 2023.

Seth Rollins is slated to square off in a Men’s WarGames Match with Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso against the fearsome faction of The Judgment Day at Survivor Series WarGames 2023.

However, the Visionary could be attacked by Drew McIntyre before the event. The fact that McIntyre lost to Rollins at Crown Jewel 2023 may cause him to take the latter out of the Men’s WarGames Match. Rollins could then be replaced by Kevin Owens, who is currently suspended from SmackDown, and if McIntyre becomes the fifth member of The Judgment Day at Survivor Series 2023, a returning Randy Orton could then join the babyface team to even the odds.

Rollins has been dealing with some back issues as of late. To ensure that his body stays in peak condition, the Stamford-based company could give him a storyline injury to write him off of television to heal.

Speaking in an interview with Logan Paul on his Impaulsive podcast in July 2023, Seth Rollins first disclosed that he has been coping with a severe back injury.

Here is what he said:

“No, honestly I just do my same thing, you know, I try to just change my training up, you know, based on how I feel, and like there are constant injuries, you know, like my knee has been bugging me since before WrestleMania [39]. I was having issues with that, you know, my neck acting up, my lower back has been at me since 2019 [and I] probably should get some surgery on that. [I’m] trying to just, you know, do whatever I can to make sure I don’t need it because I have a couple of stress fractures back there,” Rollins said. [12:38 – 13:07]

The seriousness of his situation is an awful fact that cannot be ignored. Despite his unwillingness to have surgery, the World Heavyweight Champion may need to consider it in the future.

It remains to be seen if Rollins will take a sabbatical and if McIntyre will take out Rollins before the event. Even if they increase interest, it is important to realize that these scenarios are still just hypothetical.

Seth Rollins detailed his injury

Before Payback 2023, Seth Rollins gave an update on his back health. Speaking in an interview on the WWE After The Bell podcast, Rollins described the nature of his back problems, revealing that he has two lower back vertebrae fractures, which can cause pain when they flare up.

“My back sucks. I’ve had these injuries for four or five years now. I have two stress fractures in the lowest vertebrae you can have in my lower back and occasionally they flare up. If they accrue too much damage, it can become extremely painful and it can be very difficult for me to get through matches and it can be very difficult for me to get up for the morning activities for days sometimes. So there is absolutely a danger in that,” Rollins said.

WWE Superstar shares rare throwback photos with Bray Wyatt, Becky Lynch, Jimmy Uso, and others

A WWE star recently shared a host of throwback photos on social media

WWE Superstar Natalya took to social media to share rare throwback photos featuring Becky Lynch, Jimmy Uso, Charlotte Flair, and the late Bray Wyatt, among others.

Natalya signed a contract with the Stamford-based promotion in 2007 and was assigned to the company’s developmental territory back then, Deep South Wrestling. The veteran superstar eventually transitioned into one of the best in-ring performers of all time and is a former multi-time Women’s Champion.

Taking to Instagram, Natalya shared rare photos featuring her current and past colleagues. She also sent out a heartfelt message.

“Found some incredible memories in an old phone of mine. Photos I haven’t seen in years, some I forgot I had. So many more I’m gonna share soon.. stand by!” wrote Natalya.

Check out Natalya’s Instagram post here.

Natalya believes her husband Tyson Kidd was destined to be a WWE producer

Tyson Kidd, also known as TJ Wilson, is currently working as a producer for the Stamford-based company. He was forced to retire as a professional wrestler following a gruesome neck injury in 2015.

Speaking in an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Bill Apter, Kidd’s wife Natalya explained why her husband is best suited for the role of a producer. She said:

“He’s done so much more for the industry, especially with the women’s division from where he is at right now, than he could have ever done as a performer in WWE. He has been the producer for both of the women’s matches at WrestleMania that main evented.

There is a long long list of women and men that want to work TJ in WWE because he is so good at what he does. I think he was always destined to be a producer in WWE, and his injury kind of took him there a little sooner.”

Natalya is currently teaming up with Tegan Nox and continues to be an important part of Monday Night RAW. She has taken the Welsh Superstar under her wing, helping her improve along the way.

3 reasons why LA Knight should be the fifth member at Survivor Series: WarGames

Will LA Knight becomes the fifth member for Team Rhodes at WarGames?

On the recent edition of WWE SmackDown, LA Knight competed in a match against Jimmy Uso and emerged victorious. However, following the bout, The Megastar fell victim to a post-match assault orchestrated by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. But was subsequently rescued by The American Nightmare.

For those unaware, Cody Rhodes made a surprise appearance on the recent edition of the blue brand after being seen backstage with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. The involvement of The American Nightmare in saving LA Knight has sparked speculation that he might be the fifth member of Team Rhodes in the upcoming WarGames match.

With that being said, let’s discuss three reasons why the SmackDown star should join the heroic team against The Judgment Day in the WarGames match.

#3. LA Knight’s addition to WarGames helps in keeping his momentum going

Expand Tweet

One major reason for LA Knight to join Team Rhodes as the fifth member is to sustain his momentum in the company after his loss to Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel. His recent victory over Jimmy Uso suggests that WWE intends to continue booking the former Million Dollar Champion positively.

Adding Knight to the WarGames match allows him to compete alongside current top stars like Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and The Judgment Day, contributing to the match’s overall appeal.

Furthermore, Knight’s popularity can generate anticipation for the match, providing a fresh dynamic to Survivor Series 2023. Despite speculation about Randy Orton’s potential involvement, including LA Knight adds an intriguing twist to the storyline.

#2. To keep him away from The Bloodline storyline

Expand Tweet

Another compelling reason for LA Knight to join Team Rhodes could be to distance him from the ongoing Bloodline saga. While Knight has expressed that he isn’t finished with the Samoan faction, the absence of Roman Reigns makes it challenging to continue that story.

However, by incorporating him into the WarGames match with Team Rhodes, the company can effectively keep Knight away from The Bloodline narrative, providing a break from that storyline for at least a few weeks. This strategic move allows WWE to explore new dynamics and story arcs for LA Knight until The Tribal Chief resurfaces again in the company.

#1. To give Knight his second main event on a PLE

Expand Tweet

Including Knight in the Men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series 2023 presents WWE with the opportunity to elevate The Megastar’s status within the company. At Crown Jewel 2023, Knight showcased his capabilities in his first-ever PLE main event against Roman Reigns. However, with Reigns absent from Survivor Series, the Men’s WarGames match is positioned to headline the show, much like the previous year.

So, by adding Knight to Team Rhodes in this marquee match, WWE not only provides him with another significant platform but also grants him the chance to headline his second premium live event.

This strategic move contributes to building Knight’s momentum, solidifying his presence as a top-tier talent, and expanding his role in high-profile storylines within the company.

Becky Lynch breaks silence after joining top the WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series

Becky Lynch will be competing in the Women’s WarGames Match

Becky Lynch will be competing in the upcoming WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series. Taking to Twitter, she broke silence after joining Charlotte Flair and her team.

On last week’s edition of SmackDown, Flair, Bianca Belair, and Shotzi were brutally attacked by Damage CTRL, who recently added Kairi Sane and Asuka to the faction’s lineup.

Fast forward to this week’s SmackDown, Lynch was revealed as the fourth member of Flair’s team for the upcoming WarGames Match. Taking to Twitter, she broke silence with a short two-word message.

Check out Becky’s tweet below:

“Duty calls!! #WarGames @WWE,” wrote Lynch.

At Crown Jewel, Damage CTRL added Kairi Sane to the faction after she returned and helped IYO SKY in retaining the Women’s Championship.

Last week on SmackDown, Asuka betrayed Belair and Flair during a tag team match. She also went on to join Damage CTRL.

Bianca Belair previously claimed that Becky Lynch is ‘bred different’ from other superstars

Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch were once two of the biggest rivals in WWE’s women’s division.

Speaking in a past interview with In The Kliq, The EST spoke about Lynch’s work and her commitment.

The former Women’s Champion claimed that to be successful, one has to be different and stand out from the rest. She said:
“We are very committed. We’re just committed to what we do and we love what we’re doing and you have to have a passion for WWE and wrestling. To be successful, you just have to bred different and Becky Lynch is someone who is definitely bred different.”

The Man is currently feuding with Xia Li over on Monday Night RAW. However, that didn’t prevent her from appearing on the blue brand, as she joined forces with Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, and Shotzi.

Lynch will be in singles action on the upcoming episode of RAW. She will face Li in a highly-awaited match.

WWE legend John Cena admits regret at row with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in revealing interview

JOHN CENA admitted he regrets his feud with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Cena and Johnson fought in consecutive Wrestlemania main events in 2012 and 2013.

Cena has revealed his regret at his feud with fellow WWE star JohnsonCredit: Rex
Cena admitted in a Q&A session in 2020 that things ended up “pretty personal” between the pair.

He explained: “I said some things that were less than nice. He said some things that were less than nice.

“And I can assure you, in our line of work there is a grey area where imagination becomes very real and we were right in the sweet spot of that grey area, each watching the other’s every move and not too happy with the other party.”

The 45-year-old later confessed he was wrong to call Johnson a sell out for flip-flopping between the WWE and his acting career.

Cena has himself made strides in the entertainment industry over the past few years, starring in comedies such as Trainwreck, Blockers and Daddy’s Home as well as Transformers spin-off Bumblebee.

And last year he even followed in his former rival’s footsteps by appearing in the latest instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise, F9.

On their feud, Cena added: “It was stupid of me. It genuinely was. That was my perspective at the time.

“For me to not be able to see Dwayne’s vision on what he wanted to do personally, and how his personal success could affect a growing global brand, that was just ignorant on my part.”

Cena also recognises the doors Johnson, 49, has opened for him through his successful transition to movie stardom.

He added: “I’m very thankful to Dwayne Johnson.

“His success has gotten me a lot of opportunities that I’m extremely thankful for, and certainly wouldn’t have without him.”

He wrote: “A lil’ HOBBS & SHAW exclusive. Good times droppin’ sweat and spillin’ blood with my family, Roman Reigns who’ll be playing my brother in our FAST & FURIOUS UNIVERSE.

John Cena Comments On Whether He Has A 17th World Title Reign In Him

Will The Franchise Player ever surpass the record he shares with Ric Flair?

Like him or not, John Cena has solidified his place in wrestling history as one of the greatest of all time. His full-time run ran for a decade and a half, during which time he won 16 World Championships in WWE. That means Cena is currently tied for the most World Title wins in wrestling history with Ric Flair, and he recently addressed whether there’s a possibility he will ever break the record.

A 17th Reign

“I’m not done in the ring, but I’m not certain that that’s on the cards,” Cena said when asked about a 17th reign during his appearance at Comic-Con Wales (H/T WrestlingNews.co). “I’m 45, and I can tell you from being a 16-time champion, it is very tough to win. The top of that mountain is a young man’s game.”

Cena’s last World Title win, the one that tied him for the record, came all the way back in 2017 and lasted just two weeks. A sign to some that the only reason Cena even won the title was to put him one step away from breaking the record, and that a 17th reign would be imminent. More than five years later, that hasn’t happened, and with Cena appearing in the ring less and less, the ship on doing that may have now sailed.

Will He Be At Clash At The Castle?

As for when Cena will appear in a WWE ring next, and who his opponent might be, since the Comic-Con he spoke at above was in Wales, Clash at the Castle and his availability was naturally discussed. The bad news for those hoping Cena might make a surprise appearance at the UK show is that won’t be happening. The Franchise Player might have been in Wales this month, but he won’t be returning for the stadium show in a few weeks.

Cena’s connection to WWE will never be gone for good, much like The Rock’s. However, also like Rock, Cena continues to land more and more Hollywood roles that will quickly result in him having less time to wrestle. It was believed Cena would wrestle Theory at SummerSlam this year, but the veteran didn’t end up appearing on the show at all.

Top champion relinquishes his title amid rumors of joining WWE

Does this confirm this star’s jump to WWE?

WWE has rumoredly made a lowkey major signing recently. While the reports were not confirmed, the star in question has now relinquished his World Championship after a successful defense, seemingly pointing at his debut.AEW and WWE have been aggressively competing to capture new talent in recent months, leading to some intense competition between fans online. However, both promotions have made some interesting wins over the other when it comes to acquiring top talent.

The star in question, Jay Malachi, has impressed many fans and the top brass in many promotions. The star recently successfully defended his World Championship against Alec Price at DPW World’s Strongest, but relinquished the belt afterwards. Due to this, his jump to the Stamford-based promotion seems definite.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson initially reported that Malachi was signed not too long ago. While nothing has been confirmed yet at this stage, circumstances are seemingly leading to his Stamford-based promotion debut, despite the few AEW Dark matches he had. This time, it seems like Triple H has beaten Tony Khan to the punch.

AEW has officially beat WWE in signing Will Ospreay

While Triple H might have one-upped Tony Khan in capturing Jay Malachi, AEW has captured arguably the biggest free agent in the industry today. After much speculation at the time, Will Ospreay was revealed to be Khan’s surprise AEW Full Gear signee this weekend. WWE was reportedly very interested in acquiring Ospreay, and the star interestingly played into the rumors online.

For weeks, he reacted to news surrounding the Stamford-based promotion, fueling speculation that he could go to either promotion. In the end, it seems like AEW had more to offer the rising star, as he is now officially “All Elite.” It remains to be seen if the two promotions will continue to vie for top talent going forward, especially since both rosters are stacked.

Fans are abuzz with speculation over former WWE Champion CM Punk as the final team member for Cody Rhodes at Survivor Series: WarGames instead of Randy Orton.

However, McIntyre found a backup from his new allies, which led all members of Team Cody Rhodes to storm the ring. However, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce intervened, preventing an all-out brawl. He declared tha Rhodes needed to find the fifth and final member of his team before the night concluded.

Former AEW star CM Punk on a potential WWE return

CM Punk, who was fired from AEW after an alleged backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In, is heavily rumored to make his WWE return at the Survivor Series in Chicago.

Speaking on the 670 The Score recently, Punk was asked whether he would show up at Survivor Series, and he said the following:
“I don’t want to burst anybody’s bubble. I’m kind of just sitting at home and enjoying this beautiful Chicago weather. I have an injury in the family. My dog [Larry] blew his dog ACL. I’m literally just spending my time with him. I know that sounds crazy, but he is my son, and I take care of him and treat him as such,” he said.

Zelina Vega fires back at Judgment Day member ahead of RAW

Vega is a member of the LWO faction on SmackDown.

Zelina Vega has fired back at a member of The Judgment Day faction ahead of this week’s episode of WWE RAW.

Tomorrow night’s edition of the red brand is the final episode of RAW before the WWE Survivor Series, which is set to take place on November 25 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The Judgment Day’s Rhea Ripley is scheduled to defend her Women’s World Championship against Zoey Stark at the premium live event.

The Eradicator has gotten into a war of words with a former rival today on social media. Zelina Vega poked fun at the WWE RAW star earlier today, and Ripley responded by calling the LWO member a profane name.

Now, Vega has responded to Ripley’s latest message by taking a shot at the champion’s stablemate. The LWO member suggested that Rhea called her a “d*ckhead” because NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio has been coming up short in their personal life and added that she feels bad for Mami.

You can check out her post by clicking here.
“It’s ok guys, she just calls me what she’s lacking in her life. Dumb Dom and his tiny PP & chicken tenders ain’t cutting it no more. I feel for you boo. I do,” she wrote.

Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell praises Zelina Vega for her work on SmackDown

Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell was very complimentary of the segment between Santos Escobar and Zelina Vega this past Friday on WWE SmackDown.

Santos Escobar betrayed Rey Mysterio and the LWO by seemingly giving Logan Paul brass knuckles to use at Crown Jewel to become the new United States Champion. Escobar then attacked Mysterio on last week’s SmackDown and cut a promo on the Hall of Famer this past Friday night on the blue brand.

Zelina Vega interrupted Santos Escobar and slapped him in the face during the segment.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Smack Talk show, Dutch Mantell complimented Santos Escobar for his promo on WWE SmackDown and added that he enjoyed his interaction with Zelina Vega.
“The interview with Escobar, good interview. A lot of noise piped in. Yeah, it was too much. But, the interview and the follow-through on that interview was very good, and I thought he was gonna do something a little more physical to Zelina when she slapped him, that was good, and he left, and here comes Mr. Carlitos [Carlito] in there and now we got an angle. While Señor [Rey] Mysterio is recuperating, now he can step right back into another angle,” Dutch Mantell said. [From 08:15 to 09:12]

You can check out the full episode of Smack Talk in the video below:

Randy Orton is rumored to return at the WWE Survivor Series later this month, and Zelina Vega recently shared that she wants to manage The Viper someday. It will be interesting to see if the war of words between Ripley and Vega on social media leads to a singles match down the line.
