10 candidates to reaplce Roman Reigns as the face of WWE

10 people who WWE could choose to replace Roman Reigns as the face of the company

Roman Reigns is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion

Being recognised as the face of the WWE is a position that very few have been able to reach. Certain eras of professional wrestling are defined by and can be linked to a particular star, for example, you simply can’t think of the 80s without ‘Hulkamania’ coming to mind.

The business itself needs iconic names that can be easily marketed in order to draw new fans to the product. Most viewers can remember a particular moment or person that caught their eye as they were channel surfing that made us check out the following week.

At the moment, the figurehead of the WWE is Roman Reigns, a man who the company finally made into the top guy in 2020 after many years of trying to find the way to catapult him into superstardom. However, ‘The Tribal Chief’ isn’t going to be the head of WWE’s table forever. So, let’s take a look at ten people who could potentially fill Roman’s boots when the spot opens up.

10.Damian Priest

Damian Priest

Starting with a man that WWE is clearly already very high on, Damian Priest is the current Mr. Money in the Bank and is a key part of one of the company’s top factions. Judgment Day is often the through line of Monday Night Raw and the large majority of screen time on the red brand is afforded to the group, with the main event usually featuring Priest.

Damian is one of the most experienced members of the WWE roster and has been trusted by higher-ups in the company to be involved in two Bad Bunny matches, proving that the company already have a good level of faith in him to train celebrity wrestlers and help them negotiate their way through a match.

With all that said, could Priest really fill the boots of Roman Reigns? Well, as easy as it is to think that the 40-year-old might not be the youthful exuberance that WWE are looking for to carry the company for the next decade or so, he’s a perfectly marketable heel and has a strong faction around him. In fact, there have been reports which suggest that higher-ups view Judgment Day as a potential long-term successor for The Bloodline, both in terms of drama and character development. So, it seems very possible that Priest could be the head of WWE’s next top storyline.

9.Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio

Okay, you’d be forgiven for raising your eyebrows at this one, but hear us out. From one Judgment Day member to another Dirty Dom has really hit his stride as of late. When he came into WWE in as a very inexperienced second-generation wrestler, no one would’ve ever expected him to be in contention on this list at any point, but his heel turn during Clash at the Castle 2022 has been the catalyst for him to come into his own as a performer.

Even at the start of his time with Judgment Day, some fans were off-put by his backstage segments and overall presentation. Though, when he was paired with Rhea Ripley, the 26-year-old never looked back in terms of his performances. Particularly, once they ran with the idea of ‘prison Dom’ being part of his petulant heel character, the fans seemed to get on board with what he was doing.

Of course, he’s not close to being ready to take over as the face of the company just yet, but who’s to say where he will be when Roman steps away from WWE? As it stands, audience members love to take part in booing Dom and the crowd participation during his promo segments has become a genuine reason for fans to come to shows. While many treat the heat he gets as an in-joke, Mysterio could easily become one of the biggest heels WWE has had if his momentum continues.

8.Carmelo Hayes

wwe-carmelo-hayes

Our first NXT-based entry to this list is Carmelo Hayes, someone who has become the linchpin of WWE’s third brand in recent months. Starting as a mid-carder who had to rise through the ranks, Hayes began his time as a heel but had to turn babyface earlier this year due to the fans wanting to support his pure entertainment value.

His qualities were always there to be seen, as his run with the North American Championship showed that make anything feel big time. Carmelo dubbed himself the ‘A-Champion’ and didn’t miss an opportunity to state how important his gold was to the show itself. As the saying goes, it’s the man who makes the title and the 29-year-old was certainly able to elevate the brand’s midcard title in the eyes of the viewers.

Now that he has had NXT Championship itself, only recently losing it to Ilja Dragunov, there’s no doubting just how crucial Hayes has become to the developmental show. So, once he inevitably gets the call to join the main roster, it’s entirely possible that his endless charisma and ability to put on good matches could see him reach the top spot in WWE, he’s even been involved in a gripping storyline regarding the attack of his ally Trick Williams in recent weeks, showing that he can turn his hand to the dramatic side of things as well.

7.Jey Uso

wwe-jey-uso-undisputed-champion

Jey Uso may have a case for being WWE’s breakout star of 2023. Of course, as a nine-time tag team champion, we all know about his credentials alongside his brother Jimmy, but not many would’ve predicted his success as a singles star. Now, the 38-year-old is very much his own man and is able to lead sold-out arenas in bouncing along with his entrance through every Monday night. His entertainment value simply can’t be ignored and this has helped him become beloved in the eyes of many fans.

Jey spent around three years standing alongside Roman as part of The Bloodline, but let’s not forget that he was actually Reigns’ first challenger for the Universal Title, too. The feud between Uso and his cousin was the first inkling that Jey could find success away from his brother, and, given that Jimmy was out with injury for over six months of this run, the younger of the two twins proved that he belonged in the spotlight.

During his time under Roman, the tag team specialist would be dubbed ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso and he has certainly lived up to that moniker since moving to Raw and being away from Bloodline business. Jey can safely be considered one of the top four babyface acts on Raw, so why not keep WWE’s top spot in the family and have him inherit that spot from Reigns by finally dethroning The Tribal Chief for the gold.

6.Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker

Understandably, many were off-put when WWE initially switched its third brand from black and gold to 2.0 in September 2021. However, there was immediately one man who jumped out to everyone watching as someone to keep an eye on. Son of Rick Steiner, second-generation wrestlers do usually have a high chance of going far in the business, but Bron truly could be the future.

Straight out of the gate, Breakker was given a major push. He found himself as the NXT Champion just four months after his debut and is now a two-time title holder, with his heel turn this past April breathing new life into his presentation. Truthfully, the 26-year-old already has a commanding presence whenever he’s on-screen and most things that he’s booked to do automatically feel big time.

So, we’re left to wonder what WWE would look like if Bron Breakker was at the helm. Many already feel as though he is ready to be brought up to either Raw or SmackDown and the sky is the limit when it comes to what the fresh-faced star can achieve. In terms of claiming the spot at the top of the card, it really depends on how quicker Triple H wants to pull that trigger. WWE could have Breakker continue his monstrous heel run and rise to the top in exceptionally quick fashion, or they could start a slow build to the main event scene by having him win midcard titles before moving up. Either way, Breakker is surely a great option to carry the company for the next decade or more.

5.Sami Zayn

wwe-sami-zayn-elimination-chamber-2023

Sami Zayn is someone who many fans felt could’ve been the man to dethrone Roman Reigns earlier this year when all the stars seemed to align for him. The Canadian had been part of Bloodline’s saga for over eight months by the time he turned on the group at the Royal Rumble, and, with Elimination Chamber taking place in his hometown of Montreal, it seemed too perfect of a moment to moss and would’ve written history as one of the biggest and best babyface wins in company history.

As it turned out, WWE opted to have Roman’s title reign continue past Montreal, but that didn’t stop a portion of fans from believing that Sami could make it to the world championship level again. After shining in a role alongside Reigns, Zayn’s qualities were revealed for all to see. In particular, his endearing personality makes it effortless for fans to support him and the 39-year-old could easily get people on side should he get the chance to go for WWE’s top prize again.

Now a regular on Monday Night Raw, Sami was recently split from his tag team partner Kevin Owens via a brand trade pick, but is more than proving his worth as a singles star. WWE’s flagship show is flooded with top babyface characters, and the former Intercontinental Champion may be the most amicable of them all. He will surely be a contender for the World Heavyweight Title in the near future and could certainly have a Daniel Bryan-esque fairytale story that cements him as the next face of the company in the near future.

4.LA Knight

la-knight-wwe-smackdown

In a previous entry, we mentioned how age can be a limiting factor in whether WWE chooses to push a specific star, and, at 41-years-old, it’s something which is often thrown at LA Knight to push back on the idea of him as a potential main event talent. Some believe that The Megastar has reached this point of wild popularity too late in his career to have prolonged success at the top, but this isn’t necessarily the case.

It’s worth noting that what Knight was doing while outside WWE compared to nowadays on SmackDown isn’t all that different. He has always had the undying charisma that is on display every Friday night, it’s just that he’s been given a bigger audience to captivate with his catchphrases. What Knight does is likely to pique the interest of any viewer, even the most casual fans may be able to get drawn in by his work which is exactly what the company would want out of its top star, which is why he’s thought by many to be a future World Champion, which could happen in 2024.

The face of the WWE is someone who attends the vast majority of their promotional events, including interviews and talk shows, a role which LA would surely be perfect for. If he does get given the opportunity to be the figurehead of the company, it would be a decision that’s almost entirely driven by pure fan support. Barely anyone is as popular with audiences across the world as LA Knight is today, and so it would make sense for Triple H and co to capitalise on this and reward him with a huge position in the coming months.

3.Seth Rollins

wwe-seth-rollins

As the current World Heavyweight Champion, it would make sense for WWE to look to Seth Rollins in the absence of Roman Reigns. After all, when Triple H first introduced the new title to Raw, he stated the importance of having a world champion that was likely to be there every week and regularly defend the title, something which he has given his all to do despite a very legitimate back injury which has become part of his storylines in recent months.

From one former Shield member to another, Rollins inheriting the position as the distinctive face of the WWE would be poetic in a myriad of ways, not least because Seth was the one to take a chair to Reigns’ back to call an end to The Shield. The Visionary is also able to boast a relatively successful singles record, something which has been referenced on TV in the past.

The company is trying to present Rollins as a workhorse champion and he’s been one of the most reliable performers for WWE over the last decade. All in all, he has five world championship reigns since he pulled off the ‘Heist of The Century’ in 2015, but, to this point, he has never really felt like the recognised top guy, whether that he because of short title reigns, injuries or fighting an uphill battle to try and make the Universal Title feel equal to the WWE Championship. It would be fitting for Triple H to crown The Architect as the true face of the company in the the future.

2.Gunther

Gunther is one of the brightest stars in WWE right now

After spending a considerable amount of time in NXT and NXT UK, many fans were worried about the prospect of the man formerly known as Walter joining the main roster, but, as of writing, Gunther has been the WWE Intercontinental Champion for over 525 days, being a dominant force since his SmackDown debut in Spring of last year. Particularly under Triple H’s creative direction, the Austrian has gone from strength to strength and is currently flanked by his Imperium teammates as he continues to take on all comers for his IC Title.

The Ring General even reached the final two of the 2023 Royal Rumble, entering at number one and only being thrown out by the final entrant and eventual winner Cody Rhodes, and he’s one of the favourites for this year’s match too. It’s clear that the company see Gunther as a future main event talent, and, despite never competing for a world championship thus far, he will surely be challenging at the level of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns once someone ends his Intercontinental Title reign.

In terms of whether he could ascend to being the face of the WWE, Gunther is surely the perfect monster heel to sit atop the card for years to come, waiting for a babyface to knock him off his perch. Heroes need villains and the six-foot, near-300 pounder could prove the perfect final boss for any fan favourite.

1.Cody Rhodes

wwe-cody-rhodes

Cody Rhodes seems to be the most likely candidate to become the face of the WWE once Roman steps away. Many fans still can’t believe that Rhodes didn’t walk out of WrestleMania 39 as the Undisputed Universal Champion after his 2023 Royal Rumble. Still needing to finish the story, some viewers are still expecting Cody’s crowning moment to come at WrestleMania XL, and whether that happens or not, there’s no denying that he’s earned a run with the world title.

Truthfully, love him or hate him, Cody Rhodes is exactly what WWE needs as their next iconic babyface. Much like John Cena before him, The American Nightmare is someone who is able to battle through any adversity put in front of him, as we all saw at Hell in a Cell 2022. Plus, unlike the 16-time world champion, audiences across the world are still captivated by Cody’s presence each week, with it only really being AEW’s viewers that have grown tired with his performances.

Speaking of his AEW stint, helping to found a genuine alternative to WWE and acting as an EVP proves that Rhodes has the right skillset to be a true company man. Having the Grandson of A Plumber at the helm of Raw and SmackDown would be a fair reflection of the way in which he has already improved business for WWE, almost always being among the top merchandise sellers, and it surely won’t be long before he finds himself with the title his father never had the chance to hold.

4 reasons why Jey Uso should ditch his team at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023

Jey Uso could possibly ditch his team at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023.

WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023 Premium Live Event is just days away. The big show will be held on Saturday, November 25. The event is to take place inside the Allstate Arena in Chicago. Fans are absolutely buzzing over the show, but there is one bout in particular that is on everybody’s minds.

The viewers were already looking forward to the Men’s WarGames Match, as it will feature a collection of all-time greats uniting. Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, a returning Randy Orton, and Jey Uso will unite to battle The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre. Being outnumbered, Cody was able to gain the services of Randy Orton to be the fifth man in his team.

In theory, the babyface group should be unstoppable. Orton, Rollins, Uso, Zayn, and Rhodes are five of the most popular and talented stars of any era. Still, not everything may go as planned. There is a chance a wrestler could bail on their team at the last minute.

Perhaps the most interesting person to ditch the squad is Jey Uso. There are a few reasons why Uso missing the big match could be interesting. This article will dive into four reasons why Main Event Jey Uso should bail on his partners come Saturday.

Below are four reasons why Jey Uso should ditch his team at the WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023.

#4. He may want to avoid being in a cage with Randy Orton

There are a lot of reasons to be excited for the WWE Survivor Series WarGames. The card looks absolutely stacked, and every match has the ability to deliver in spades. Still, there is one main reason for the fans to look forward to the event, and that is the return of Randy Orton.

The Legend Killer will be returning to the ring for the first time in a year and a half. What fans may forget is that prior to his back surgery, Orton was in a feud with The Bloodline. In fact, it was Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso who put him on the shelf to begin with.

Jey looked very nervous when Cody Rhodes revealed Randy was their partner. If he is worried about Orton seeking revenge, Jey may bail on the match altogether. Being locked in a cage with The Viper looking for vengeance may not be an ideal situation for Main Event Jey Uso.

#3. Jey Uso could still want to be on Rhea Ripley’s good side

Jey Uso and Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley is one of the greatest stars in WWE today. She is the reigning Women’s World Champion, having won the title back when it was still named the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39.

While Damian Priest is claiming to be the leader of The Judgment Day, at least for WarGames, many disagree with that assessment. Most people think that The Eradicator truly leads the group. Everybody loves Mami, from the fans to the wrestlers. Even Jey Uso appears to do so.

Jey and Rhea have flirted with each other on more than one occasion. While Jey is not with The Judgment Day, he may find himself infatuated by Mami. If that is the case, he may ditch the big WWE event in an attempt to earn brownie points with the dominant female star. Could Jey and Rhea become an on-screen thing one day?

#2. It would make for an exciting heel-turn

One of the main reasons why WWE should pull Jey Uso out of the Men’s WarGames Match at Survivor Series 2023 comes down to the quality of the program. A Jey Uso heel turn and the subsequent story could make for a tremendous television show.

Some of the best programming WWE has done in recent years came courtesy of Jey Uso and his various dynamics with different superstars. He and Sami Zayn, for example, have had a particularly storied history.

Jey teasing a babyface turn only to Superkick Sami earlier this year on RAW was a moment that fans will never forget. If Uso can replicate that with Sami, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and, of course, Randy Orton, things could be extremely fun on Monday Night RAW.

#1. CM Punk could return to WWE and be his surprise replacement

CM Punk could return at Survivor Series WarGames 2023.

There is one bigger reason why Jey Uso could ditch his teammates at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023. This particular one would be well worth it in the eyes of most fans, and it could see CM Punk returning as the fifth man.

CM Punk is a former WWE Champion and a wrestling legend who left the Stamford-based company under less-than-ideal circumstances back in 2014. He returned to wrestling via All Elite Wrestling but was fired from the promotion earlier this year.

Many hope to see Punk return home to World Wrestling Entertainment, and with Survivor Series 2023 in Chicago, it would be the perfect time to do it. Jey could decide to bail on his team, but the popular babyfaces could then call in a former world champion who lives nearby to save the day.

RANDY ORTON UNVEILED AS 5TH MEMBER OF WWE SURVIVOR SERIES WARGAMES MATCH

Drew McIntyre turned heel and joined the Judgment Day’s team for WarGames at Survivor Series. That gave the heels five members for their team at Survivor Series for WarGames, and Adam Pearce gave the babyfaces until the end of RAW’s first hour to pick a 5th team member.

Randy Orton Unveiled As 5th Member Of WWE Survivor Series WarGames Match

Ringside News will have complete coverage of WWE RAW this week. The November 20th episode should be quite a show, and they already had plenty announced.

Many believed that Randy Orton will team up with Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes at Survivor Series in the Men’s WarGames Match. It’s expected that the 5th babyface team member for WarGames will be revealed before Survivor Series.

After Drew McIntyre’s heel turn on Monday’s Raw, Cody Rhodes hinted at Randy Orton’s imminent return. Orton has been absent from WWE since May of the previous year due to fusion back surgery.

The babyface team was given until the end of the night to figure out their 5th team member, or Pearce threatened to do it himself. When the time came, they finally made the big announcement.

Cody Rhodes was able to get someone to pick up the call, but they waited to reveal the name. After Drew McIntyre beat Jey Uso to secure the advantage for the heel team at WarGames, it looked like the heels were going to destroy Jey Uso.

Cody Rhodes ran down for the save, and he ran the heels off with a steel chair in hand. Sami Zayn was there to help as well. Soon, it was the babyface WarGames team in the ring as the heels watched from the entrance ramp.

Cody Rhodes said that he is glad that the heels won the advantage, because they have the 5th member already, “someone I have Legacy with,” and “you’re looking at us like we’re prey, but we have the Apex Predator.” Then they announced that Randy Orton is coming back at Survivor Series to join the WarGames match.

As we previously reported, November 20th’s RAW took place in the same arena where Orton had his last match in 2022. This marks exactly 18 months since Randy Orton’s last appearance on WWE television. These factors add anticipation to Orton’s comeback.

Now, the babyface team is full for Survivor Series. We will have to see how Randy Orton does after taking so much time off. You can check out the updates card below.

What’s your take on Randy Orton’s return to WWE? Let us know what you think about things in the comments!

The Undertaker opens up about accusations of ruining people’s childhoods

The Undertaker is a former World Heavyweight Champion

The Undertaker recently opened up about people accusing him of ruining their childhoods.

The Deadman is one of the most respected men in pro wrestling. There are a lot of people who respect what he has done for the business throughout his career. Undoubtedly, he had one of the most unique gimmicks in pro wrestling for many years and he did everything he could to keep that intact.

In fact, The Deadman never did any interviews or TV shows during the peak of his career as he wanted to maintain kayfabe. However, now that he’s retired, Taker has been making up for lost time. He has been doing interviews and even runs a podcast now. However, some of his hardcore fans are not taking kindly to this.

During a recent episode of his Six Feet Under podcast, the Hall of Famer said that people are angry about him doing his interview circuit. He even said that people have gone as far as accusing him of ruining their childhoods.

“There are people out there that are still mad at me. There are a ton of people that love the fact that I’m talking and doing the 1 Deadman Show and Six Feet Under, but there are still a large group of people that are really upset with me because I don’t talk about taking souls and I’ve kind of opened up, to the point where people have accused me of ruining their childhood.” [H/T 411Mania]

The Undertaker on whether he passed the torch to Bray Wyatt

For many years, Bray Wyatt was considered to be Taker’s successor in WWE. Earlier this year, that seemed even more accurate as the two men shared a moment in the ring on RAW when the Phenom whispered something in Wyatt’s ear.

During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, The Deadman said that he didn’t need to pass the torch to Bray Wyatt because he lit his own torch.
“You know what? I think he created his own torch. I don’t think he needed a torch. Obviously, there were several comparisons between our characters and some of the stuff that we put out there. But, yeah, he lit his own torch, and he carried it proudly.”

It remains to be seen if we will get to see The Undertaker back in a wrestling ring again after his recent appearance on NXT.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Controversial Past Resurfaces, Once Called Woman A ‘Tranny’ & Performed ‘Insensitive’ Chinese Impression

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is coming under fire after an old tweet of his where he called a nursing student a “tranny” and a video of him performing an insensitive Chinese impression have resurfaced after he jumped into the Joe Rogan mess.

SOURCE: MEGA

According to Daily Mail, the tweet made by the 49-year-old Jungle Cruise actor was brought to light following his complete 180 regarding his defense of Rogan after the comedian’s own racist and transphobic comments made on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience were brought to the world’s attention.

SOURCE: MEGA

“I was not aware of his N word use prior to my comments, but now I’ve become educated to his complete narrative. Learning moment for me,” Johnson tweeted on Friday in a complete reversal from his prior stance defending his “long-time buddy.”

But shortly after The Rock’s complete 180 on Friday regarding Rogan, his own alleged insensitive, transphobic, and racist past resurfaced on Twitter, causing people to call the actor out for being a “hypocrite” and showing that “the double standard is real.”

“It’s not our fault you’re turning tranny tricks to put yourself thru nursing school,” Johnson tweeted in 2011 in response to a former fan criticizing him.

Surprisingly, this resurfaced tweet was brought to everyone’s attention by none other than Donald Trump Jr., who posted a screenshot of the tweet on Sunday and writing, “Wow @TheRock, you can’t just try to quietly delete transphobic attacks without giving a groveling apology and expect to ever work in Hollywood again.”

“Do Under Armour, Ford, Apple, Netflix and the rest of his sponsors/partners agree with this?”

Caitlyn Jenner, who herself has transitioned from a man to a woman, also responded to the actor’s transphobic tweet.

“Hmmmm… the double standard is real,” she wrote. “@TheRock I love you but cmon dude…let’s be real. Cancel culture has got to go. Use your platform.”

SOURCE: MEGA

Johnson was also called out for once calling John Cena “a bloated transvestite Wonder Woman ready to fight crime,” as well as for insensitive performance during WWE’s 13th Annual Survivor Series in which he blatantly mocked the Chinese with a Chinese impression.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, many people are up in arms over Johnson’s own history of racism and transphobia due to his recent defense of Rogan.

“I’ve been buddies with Rogan for many years. His response was articulate, straight up and fair,” Johnson said just days before reversing his stance on Friday. “For years he and I have talked about me going on his show. And one day I will. And we will drink tequila. A lot.”

Cody Rhodes makes a request to Jey Uso after announcing Randy Orton’s return

Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and Randy Orton (left to right)

Cody Rhodes announced Randy Orton’s return during the final moments of RAW, but what happened when the cameras stopped rolling?

At Survivor Series: WarGames 2023, The Viper will return to WWE. He will join Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn, and the babyfaces will take on Judgment Day in a WarGames match.

Cody Rhodes announced Randy Orton’s return on tonight’s episode of RAW to a massive pop from the crowd. After the show went off the air, the babyfaces stood in the ring, and Cody cut a quick promo requesting Jey Uso to yell his signature catchphrase.

Cody then thanked the fans for watching the show before the babyfaces left the ring.

Cody Rhodes and Orton have quite a bit of history together. Orton, Cody, and Ted DiBiase Jr. formed The Legacy back in the day. The heel faction battled WWE’s biggest babyfaces, including DX and John Cena. Cody has become a main event level star, and Orton couldn’t have been more proud of him.

It remains to be seen if the babyfaces manage to put The Judgment Day down at Survivor Series: WarGames, now that Orton is returning.

Dwayne Johnson’s Past Insensitive Tweets From Playing The Villain During His Time At WWE Resurface After Actor Apologizes For Supporting Joe Rogan

Since becoming involved with Joe Rogan’s recent scandal, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is now getting wrapped up in his own controversial past.

The 49-year-old actor recently offered his support to Rogan after he came under fire for making controversial comments on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience. Once the nature of Rogan’s statements were brought to Johnson’s attention, he apologized for backing the 54-year-old. However, in light of the drama, Johnson has been exposed for making his own problematic statements in the past.

The Moana actor apologized last week in a Tweet for defending the podcast host, claiming he was “not aware of his N word use prior to my comments, but I’ve now become educated to his complete narrative. Learning moment for me.”

SOURCE: MEGA

Though the Red Notice star apologized, he is now being called out as a “hypocrite” after a series of old tweets from his account emerged. In addition, a clip of him doing an offensive Chinese accent has also been circulating online, causing others in the industry to call him out for his lapse in judgment.

However, the video in question was from the actors time at the WWE in a scripted promo for WrestleMania, where Johnson played The Rock “Heel Character,” a villain used in the series to spice up the drama.

In regard to the 2011 tweet circulating, Johnson was replying at the time to a woman who wrote she was on his side, “until I realized that @TheRock is a douche.” Responding in his bad guy persona, the Jungle Cruise star wrote: “It’s not our fault you’re turning tranny tricks to put yourself thru nursing school.”

Donald Trump Jr. was among those who brought attention to Johnson’s past comments, writing on the social media platform: “Wow @TheRock, you can’t just try to quietly delete transphobic attacks without giving a groveling apology and expect to ever work in Hollywood again.”

Caitlyn Jenner also responded to the message, tweeting: “Hmmmm…the double standard is real. @TheRock I love you but cmon dude…let’s be real. Cancel culture has got to go. Use your platform. @DonaldJTrumpJr thanks for highlighting.”

SOURCE: MEGA

It all started when Rogan claimed he would “try to balance out” the “controversial viewpoints” he discusses on his show in light of his questionable take on the COVID-19 pandemic, per The Hill.

In response, Johnson left a comment on the statement, writing: “Great stuff here brother. Perfectly articulated. Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”

Many people were quick to point out the problematic nature of Johnson’s comment, with author Don Winslow writing: “You’re a hero to many people and using your platform to defend Joe Rogan, a guy that used and laughed about using the N word dozens of times, is a terrible use of your power. Have you actually listened to this man’s many racist statements about Black people?”

SOURCE: MEGA

After Winslow called Johnson out on Twitter, he acknowledged his mistake by directly responding to the liberal political activist’s Tweet.

As OK! reported, Rogan later released an apology video, where he addressed his frequent use of the N-word in various episodes of his hit podcast. Rogan claimed he didn’t mean to use the word as a slur but now understands his use of the word in any context is inappropriate and offensive.

“I know that to most people, there is no context where a white person is ever allowed to say that word, nevermind publicly on a podcast, and I agree with that now,” he said in his video while insisting he hasn’t used the word “in years.”

Liv Morgan is currently sidelined with an injury

The Riott Squad made its debut back in November 2017. The trio shared the ring with top stars, including Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.

Taking to Twitter/X, Morgan expressed her love for her former stablemates. Soho (formerly known as Ruby Riott) is currently signed to AEW.

“Happy Riott Squad day to my sisters for life. No matter how much time passes or how much changes in our lives, I love you both unconditionally forever. 11/21/17,” wrote Morgan.

Check out Morgan’s tweet:

Liv Morgan recently recalled her first-ever women’s championship

Liv Morgan recently recalled her first-ever women’s championship match against Becky Lynch.

Taking to Instagram, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion sent an emotional message. Check out an excerpt below:

“After years and years of hard work, I finally got an opportunity to prove what my fans and I have known for a long long time, that I was READY. To make this night even more special, it came exactly 20 years after Lita and Trish iconically became the first ever women to main event a WWE show. Even though the red heads won both times, this was the true start of my history in the making & I can’t wait to make more ❤️‍🔥 History has a funny way of repeating itself,” she said.

Morgan is currently sidelined with an injury. Before being written off television, she lost the Women’s Tag Team Championships with Raquel Rodriguez.

CM Punk’s rumored return at Survivor Series forced WWE to make a huge reveal ahead of time

Will we see CM Punk at Survivor Series

Will we see CM Punk at Survivor Series?

CM Punk has been speculated to return at Survivor Series in Chicago this weekend. However, WWE didn’t want fans to believe that he would be the fifth member of Cody Rhodes’ team, hence ensuring that Rhodes name-dropped Randy Orton before this week’s episode of WWE RAW went off the air.

The last time the WWE Universe saw Orton in a match was when he and Matt Riddle lost the Tag Team Title unification match against The Usos. The match took place on the May 20th episode of SmackDown in 2022.

The Viper was heavily speculated to become the fifth member of Cody Rhodes’ team in the WarGames match at Survivor Series this weekend. The WWE Universe’s wish finally came true when the American Nightmare revealed that his former Legacy teammate would return at the PLE.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Punk is the reason why Orton’s return was not kept as a surprise for this weekend.
“Randy Orton’s reveal was done intentionally as to not make fans believe CM Punk would be the partner.”

A popular RAW star is happy about CM Punk’s rumored return at Survivor Series

CM Punk has been heavily speculated to return to WWE this weekend at Survivor Series. The rumor mill began spinning the story when Punk parted ways with AEW a couple of months ago. To continue the hype that was created by the WWE Universe, the promotion ensured to drop hints that were picked up by the fans.

Not only have fans been excited about the former WWE Champion’s potential return to the promotion but a few stars have even addressed the rumors. WWE RAW Superstar Johnny Gargano only had positive things to say about CM Punk’s return.

“There are so many eyes currently on WWE television. Obviously, every little bit helps. I mentioned how Logan Paul has taken the United States Championship all over the world with him and getting new eyes on the product. At the end of the day, whatever is going to get more eyes on WWE television, that’s the best move possible.”

John Cena shares an update after undergoing surgery following WWE ‘retirement’

John Cena

John Cena is a former WWE Champion

John Cena posted an important update on social media after undergoing surgery following his WWE ‘retirement’.

Cena made his return to the WWE several weeks ago and was immediately put into a storyline with The Bloodline. For several weeks, Cena feuded against the faction, which culminated in a match at Crown Jewel against Solo Sikoa.

During their singles bout, Solo Sikoa destroyed Cena with multiple Samoan spikes and pinned him. Following the match, Cena gave the feeling that this was his final match for the company and he was headed back to Hollywood.

Cena recently underwent surgery on his arms before he could get back to shooting. Now, The Cenation Leader has taken to social media to share an important update with the fans.
“Thank you for the autograph, @JeffDugasMD! So very grateful to him and his whole team for two successful surgeries. A world-class facility that has me ready to seize the day… with two repaired arms!”

Paul Heyman says the Solo Sikoa has ended John Cena

Following Crown Jewel, Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa showed up on SmackDown this past week where the former addressed Solo’s massive victory over The Cenation Leader. However, things didn’t stop there.

The special counsel to the Tribal Chief then took to social media to declare the end of Cena.

“SOLO GOT IT DONE! (the end of John Cena and The Cenation),” he wrote.

With his surgery, it now looks highly unlikely that the fans will get to see Cena back inside a WWE ring anytime soon, much to the dismay of the WWE Universe. But, we do wish him a speedy recovery, and hope to see him on the big screen soon.
