Kyrgyzstan received Turkish Akinci and Aksungur drones

Asia Baykar Bayraktar Procurement Turkey UAV

Kyrgyzstan has received Turkish Akinci multi-purpose UAVs manufactured by Baykar and Aksungur by TAI.

Defense Turk reported on this.

The Kyrgyzstan Border Guard Service will be using the transferred drones.

Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, participated in the drone transfer ceremony. He inspected the base infrastructure, UAVs, and personnel.

Japarov noted that for the first time in the country’s history, modern drones were purchased for the border service. He emphasized that modern high-tech UAVs will greatly contribute to the security of the country.

As part of the event, the Head of State awarded Haluk Bayraktar, General Director of Baykar, the Order of Glory, the state award of the Kyrgyz Republic.

On October 12, 2022, Militarnyi reported that Kyrgyzstan could become the next foreign operator of the Turkish Akinci heavy unmanned aviation system.

This is not the first time Kyrgyzstan has used the services of the Turkish military industry.

In 2021, it was reported that Kyrgyzstan purchased Bayraktar TB2 drones, also intended for the country’s Border Guard Service, from the Turkish company Baykar.

Later, in December 2021, it was reported that Kyrgyz border guards received the UAVs.

In addition to purchasing Turkish drones, Kyrgyzstan is developing its national potential in this direction.

In October 2022, Militarnyi reported that for the first time, Kyrgyzstan assembled a SAARA-02 military drone of its own production.

The UAV is equipped with modern optical and electronic sensors for optical reconnaissance and is capable of conducting strike functions. It can carry light controlled aircraft ammunition and point them at the target.

The Russians are supplying Plastun-SN light tracked armored vehicles to the military

Armor Russia War with Russia

The Russian military received a batch of Plastun-SN crawler all-terrain vehicles converted for military purposes.

TheDeadDistrict columnist reported this on his Twitter page.

The civilian “Plastun” received the “SN” (Special Purpose – ed.) modernization and is positioned as a light tracked armored all-terrain vehicle for evacuating the wounded.

It can also be used as a reconnaissance vehicle or a self-propelled 82mm mortar.

The SN model has a combined Br3 and Br4 class protection, which should protect the crew against 9×19 mm to 7.62×39 mm bullets.

The armored vehicle has a pickup or cabrio body layout without a rigid roof, the absence of which can negatively affect the survivability of the vehicle and crew under the influence of drones and debris.

A special easily removable frame and a derivative waterproof tent are installed to protect the crew from the weather.

This version of the all-terrain vehicle was chosen by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which set the following tasks for the manufacturer: fast entry and exit, stretcher loading, mortar operation, and deployment of telescopic towers with surveillance devices.

Plastun-SN has eight seats, and the version of the medical evacuation vehicle hosts four people and has two seats for stretchers.

Due to the modernization, the weight of the vehicle increased by 3,800 kilograms, the maximum speed of the Plastun-SN is 50 kilometers per hour, and the recommended speed is 30 km/h.

The Ukrainian military also uses tracked all-terrain vehicles. In June, Militarnyi reported on the transfer of the batch of Bandvagn 206 from Germany.

The Armed Forces had already used these all-terrain vehicles even prior to the official announcement of the transfer.

In addition, the use of domestic Bohun all-terrain vehicles by the Ukrainian military was reported in May.

Unlike the basic civilian vehicle, the presented modifications are designed to ensure the transportation of personnel.

Russians report attack on anti-aircraft missile regiment in Crimea: soldiers wounded

Air Defense Crimea Occupants elimination SAM Ukraine War with Russia

Russians allege a Ukrainian nighttime missile attack on an anti-aircraft missile regiment in temporarily occupied Crimea.

This is reported by the ASTRA Telegram channel.

According to their sources, 17 Russian servicemen were wounded in the attack.

Five cars were also damaged. One of the vehicles is beyond repair.

It is noted that the missile strike was carried out today, October 30, at about 3 a.m. near the village of Olenivka in the occupied Crimea.

The missile attack allegedly targeted the location of an anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Russian invaders. This information has not yet been officially confirmed by either the Ukrainian or the Russian side.

It is worth noting that a Russian air defense base is indeed located in the area of this settlement.

In August, Militarnyi reported the destruction of elements of the Russian S-400 Triumf air defense system near this village. At that time, a total of two 5P85SM2-01 self-propelled launchers were destroyed.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine clarified that the explosion had completely destroyed the systems themselves, as well as the missiles and personnel.

“On August 23, 2023, at about 10:00 a.m, an explosion occurred near the village of Olenivka on Cape Tarkhankut in the temporarily occupied Crimea, destroying a Russian air defense system,” the DIU specified.

The Ukrainian intelligence representative did not disclose what kind of weapons was used to destroy the elements of this Russian air defense system.

This is not the first time that S-400 systems have been destroyed. In particular, in July of this year, the Ukrainian military disabled a battery of the Russian Triumf air defense system by targeting its key vehicles with artillery fire.

FSB agent installs cameras in the Zaporizhzhia region to spy on the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Counterintelligence Intelligence Security Service of Ukraine Ukraine War with Russia Zaporizhia

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a Russian agent who installed hidden video cameras on the roads of the Zaporizhzhia region to track movements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The SSU press service reported about this on Monday, October 30.

The agent’s task was to collect intelligence data on the routes of movement, the number of vehicles and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine sent to the front line.

One of the first tasks of the offender was to collect information about the SSU regional office in the Zaporizhzhia region. This was how he came to the attention of the internal security and counterintelligence services of the Ukrainian special service, which began to document the illegal activities of the Russian agent.

The Security Service of Ukraine established that the traitor had installed his own hidden webcams along the main roads of the region to track the convoys of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is emphasized that the SSU officers timely detected and deactivated hidden video devices, preventing the possibility of the intelligence data being transmitted to the Russian invaders.

“In the area of special attention of the Russian Federation were columns of heavy armored vehicles and artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are involved in counteroffensive operations on the southern front. The agent installed webcams in the locations indicated to him by his FSB supervisor. To disguise the video devices, he fixed them on the pillars of external road lighting,” the SSU said.

Once the webcams were installed, they were supposed to provide continuous online broadcasting of traffic with remote access for FSB personnel.

For the execution of the hostile task, the Russian special service transferred a monetary reward of UAH 30,000 to the bank account of its agent. The SSU documented the criminal actions of the offender step by step and detained him during a technical check of one of the webcams.

The Russian agent turned out to be a local resident. At the end of September this year, he remotely contacted the administrator of a pro-Kremlin Telegram channel and offered his assistance in the war against Ukraine.

“The traitor received from the aggressor not only the tasks of reconnaissance and explosive activities, but also step-by-step instructions for their implementation,” the SSU said.

The SSU investigators served the offender a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 15, Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted high treason committed under martial law), he faces life imprisonment. He is currently in custody.

TGP turret with artificial intelligence was developed in Ukraine

Infantry armament Technologies Ukraine

A TGP remote weapon station, which uses artificial intelligence to recognize and destroy the enemy’s manpower, was developed in Ukraine for the military.

The Ukrainian company devDroid.tech developed the RWS for small arms.

Servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, together with representatives of the manufacturer, recently tested this RWS.

According to the developers, the TGP turret is designed for locating, engaging, and destroying enemy manpower using artificial intelligence algorithms.

It is stated that the RWS can be used to protect strongholds from FPV and reconnaissance drones. The TGP can also cover infantry and distract enemy fire.

The RWS systems recognize the enemy’s manpower, determine the distance to it, track the target if it is moving, and calculate ballistic solution. The operator only has to give a command, and the TGP would open fire.

The RWS can be armed with a 7.62mm tank machine gun, AK-47, AK-74, Grot machine guns, and others.

The cost of one such system is UAH 300,000.

The TGP is proposed to be used to enhance the combat capabilities of mechanized units in the branch-platoon link in defensive and offensive operations. The turret can be used to modernize existing and equip the latest armored vehicles (IFVs, APCs).

TGP specifications:

  • automatic manpower detection: up to 1 km
  • target lock-on and tracking: up to 1 km
  • hitting a target measuring 2×2 meters at a distance of 1 km
  • stabilization of weapons and their alignment along the horizon
  • remote control at a distance of up to 100 meters via wire and network operation via Starlink
  • additional thermal imaging equipment to detect manpower at night
  • autonomy: 7 days without recharging
  • turret design is capable of lifting weapons to a height of 30 centimeters for digging and camouflage
  • weight: light stationary turret – up to 35 kilograms; module for placement on AFV – 110 kg.

The system is built according to an open architecture, which allows adding a range of weapons and modernization.

TGP can be placed in the trench with a depth of 40-80 centimeters for its disguise and protection from the debris of shells and from enemy fire. During combat work, the turret lifts the weapon to a height of 30 centimeters from the trench, strikes the enemy with fire, and drops back into the trench.

Finland will provide the US with territory for its military

Europe Finland NATO USA World

The Finnish authorities will allow the US to use several Finnish garrisons or military bases.

Yle’s sources said that these are land, sea, and air zones.

It is noted that the negotiations on the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) between Finland and the United States are almost over.

The parties agreed that American troops would be able to operate in Finland.

However, the agreement does not provide for the establishment of a US base in Finland. US Army soldiers will be able to stay there temporarily. The text of the agreement is currently confidential.

A previous agreement was reached several years ago, but negotiations began after Russia attacked Ukraine, the publication emphasizes.

Thus, Finland hopes that cooperation with the United States will improve the country’s security.

The United States has similar agreements with 20 countries. Negotiations are currently underway with Sweden.

Finland officially became a NATO member on April 4. This country became the 31st member of the Alliance.

Finland discussed NATO and its membership in the Alliance in depth as early as 2021, and since then, the country’s leadership and NATO have spoken on the phone or met almost 10 times.

And it was the invasion of Ukraine last year that led Finland and Sweden to apply for NATO membership.

As previously reported, Finland is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine aimed at protecting critical infrastructure in the fall and winter.

Russia develops an anti-FPV system for IFVs

Armed Forces of Ukraine EW IFV Neighbors Russia UAV

Russia is developing an FPV drone jamming system for infantry fighting vehicles and logistics vehicles.

Rostec Corporation claims that some samples of EW systems withstood tests with “encouraging results.”

The Vysokotochnye Kompleksy holding (part of Rostec) tested the anti-FРV-drone EW systems in the composition of infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs).

“Now, the issue of supplying IFVs with such equipment is being considered,” the corporation shared.

FPV drones are a serious threat to infantry fighting vehicles in modern warfare, and protection against them should ensure the survivability of equipment.

“The work is currently underway to incorporate such systems in the IFV equipment,” Rostec added.

The Vysokotochnye Kompleksy holding includes Russia’s only IFV manufacturer – Kurganmashzavod JSC.

Anti-FPV systems are also developed at the civil level in Russia.

Russians recently tested two drone defense systems on a civilian UAZ minibus. One of the systems was purchased by the Russian company RusKrep in China, while the other was made in Russia.

During tests, the Chinese system managed to jam the FPV drone at a distance of 40 to 45 meters from the target.

The Russian system was not able to suppress the FPV drone, which was able to fly over the vehicle, but the operator had some problems with control.

Slovakia deploys troops on the border with Hungary to deter migrants

Border EU Europe Neighbors Slovakia World

Slovakia has deployed hundreds of soldiers and police officers on the border with Hungary to deter illegal migrants.

Deutsche Welle reported on this.

Newly appointed Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that illegal migration must be controlled.

He noted that otherwise, people associated with “terrorist” groups could be entering the country.

Fico did not disclose the details of the deployment of troops on the border with Hungary but visited one of the checkpoints on Monday, October 30, late in the evening to inspect the arrangements.

“We want to send a clear signal that with the new government comes a new approach to illegal migration,” Matúš Šutaj Eštok, Interior Minister, said.

He added that “large forces” would be deployed to protect the areas bordering Hungary.

More and more people from the Middle East and Africa are trying to get to Europe in search of a better life due to military conflicts and economic instability.

In recent years, Slovakia has seen an increasing number of migrants and asylum seekers arrive, mostly from Serbia via Hungary, and heading for wealthier countries in Western Europe.

According to the government, in 2023, more than 40,000 illegal migrants were detected at Slovakia’s borders.

Earlier this month, the previous Slovak government resumed random checks on the border with Hungary. This decision was made after neighboring countries – Austria, the Czech Republic, and Poland – reintroduced controls on their borders with Slovakia to curb migration.

The migration problem also started to worsen amid the war between Israel and Hamas terrorists from the Gaza Strip.

MLRS based on 2P24 Krug TEL found in Karabakh

Armenia Artillery Azerbaijan Caucasus MLRS Nagorno-Karabakh World

The Azerbaijani military discovered multiple rocket launcher systems based on the 2P24 Krug TEL in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense noted that the installation was made in an improvised way.

It is made based on a 2P24 Krug self-propelled medium-range anti-aircraft missile system.

Two Soviet anti-aircraft missiles were installed on TEL. Presumably, due to a shortage of these missiles, Armenian forces decided to convert the vehicles into rocket launchers.

For this purpose, the MD-24F jet-exhaust spinned rocket launcher was chosen.

These projectiles were created for the Soviet М-24 multiple rocket launcher.

MD-24F weighs 150 kilograms and can hit targets at a distance of up to 18 kilometers.

Also, during the inspection of the territory in Nagorno-Karabakh, a workshop was discovered where homemade devices for war were made using impromptu methods.

“A significant number of homemade mines that can be transported by drones, as well as other explosive devices made by artisanal methods, were discovered in the workshop,” the Azerbaijani military reported.

In particular, a towed installation equipped with 12 anti-tank grenade launchers was discovered.
