Denmark has announced the 13th military aid package to Ukraine for DKK 3.7 billion (almost €500 million).

The announcement was made in a press release of the Danish Ministry of Defense.

In particular, the military aid package comprises T-72EA tanks, armored personnel carriers, artillery ammunition, drones, small arms, and military engineering vehicles.

The latter is funded in cooperation with Germany, as the Danish Defense Ministry notes.

This aid package also includes support for NATO’s Comprehensive Assistance Package and the EU’s joint procurement of artillery ammunition.

“I met with my Ukrainian counterpart in Kyiv on Tuesday and received an update on the situation in Ukraine. Based on the ongoing negotiations with Ukrainians, the thirteenth and largest donation package from Denmark was formed,” said Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

On October 24, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen visited Kyiv and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umierov.

Denmark and the Czech Republic have joined forces in a joint project to support Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invaders.

Within the first part of the project, the two countries will transfer about 50 infantry fighting vehicles and main battle tanks, as well as electronic warfare and reconnaissance equipment, and large-caliber ammunition.

However, not all the equipment will be new. The report notes that the supplies will also include refurbished equipment that is already in service with the Armed Forces.

The T-72EA tanks by the Czech Excalibur Army are a modernization of the T-72M1 tank, which underwent the installation of reactive armor, new modern radio communications, a digital instrument panel, a thermal imaging sight with a laser rangefinder, as well as an increase in engine power to 840 hp.

In May of this year, the Ukrainian military received new simulators for training on the new modernized T-72EA tank.
