Netherlands Prepare €2 billion for Military Aid to Ukraine

Europe Military assistance Netherlands War with Russia

The Dutch government has prepared €2 billion for military aid to Ukraine in 2024.

Reuters reported on this.

According to Dutch Defense Minister, Kajsa Ollongren, the allocation of these funds is a sign of unwavering support for Ukraine in the war against Russia.

It is part of a wider package the Netherlands will provide to Ukraine next year that includes an initial €102 million for reconstruction and humanitarian aid.

It is noted that, if necessary, the amount of funds allocated for reconstruction and humanitarian aid may be increased.

The latest package takes the total amount of Dutch support for Ukraine during the conflict to around €7.5 billion, Ollongren said.

“This will safeguard our support for Ukraine and ensure continuity, which is critical for Ukraine,” she said, referring to a November 22 election in the Netherlands that will change the composition of the ruling government coalition.

Support will be provided based on Ukraine’s needs, and may include advanced drone capabilities.

At the beginning of November, the Dutch government announced the provision of a new package of military aid to Ukraine, which includes artillery and tank ammunition.

Militarnyi previously reported that Finland handed over a new military aid package to Ukraine, estimated at €100 million.

Further details on the content of the package, the way it is delivered, or the schedule will not be given for operational reasons, and to ensure that the assistance will reach its destination safely.

On November 13, it was reported that the European Union has provided Ukraine with €27 billion in military aid since the beginning of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.

Back in the summer, it became known that the EU was planning to create a special fund to finance Ukrainian defense.

It is designed for the next four years and includes €20 billion.
