A freight train derailed in the Ryazan Oblast of Russia after an explosion on the railway.
It happened on the morning of Saturday, November 11.
Photos and videos from the scene were published in Russian media and propaganda Telegram channels.
In public reports, 19 wagons of a freight train derailed in the area of Diagilevo station. Seven of them, with mineral fertilizers inside, fell to the side.
The explosion on the railway occurred at about 7 a.m. local time on the Rybne—Blokpost section. As a result, the railway track was damaged.
“Today at 07:12 on the Rybne—Blokpost, according to preliminary information, as a result of the interference of outsiders in the work of railway transport, 19 wagons of a freight train wen off the rails,” the Moscow Railway informed.
According to the latest information, as a result of the incident, the assistant driver was injured and taken by an ambulance. Allegedly, no one else was hurt.
Russian special services and rescuers immediately arrived at the scene.
The undermining of railway tracks in the Ryazan Oblast of the Russian Federation may indicate sabotage.
The “Moscow Railway” claims that the movement of passenger and suburban trains was not affected after the incident.
Currently, railway workers and the military are inspecting the tracks. Recovery equipment arrived at the scene.
