Released by the University of Northern Iowa, this collection of anti-feminist propaganda captures the war waged on women as they struggled to get the vote during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Without TV, radio or social media around, from 1900 to 1914 critics used cheap colour-lithographed postcards to attack suffragettes, scaremonger and assert the status quo. Change was presented as a direct attack on the values of the family and the place of man in society, sending husbands back home to look after the children…
