Unveiling the UP40 Explorer: Antonini Navi’s Ultimate Superyacht Concept for Unforgettable Adventures

June seems like a very distant memory, but I recall the unveiling of the Utility Platform 40 and the Italians at Antonini Navi celebrating their accomplishment. The UP40 Explorer superyacht concept is based on the same modular steel platform as the Utility Platform 40, but it appears even better.

The UP40 Explorer was designed in collaboration with renowned yacht designer Fulvio de Simoni, whose name should ring a bell if you’re a sailing and luxury yacht enthusiast.

According to Fulvio de Simoni, this initiative posed a significant challenge in light of the other available options and the fact that it had to share the UP40 platform.

The goal was to design a vessel that was comfortable, dependable, and safe, with a hint of a military feel, but which could be readily and extensively customized upon request for extended cruises and long-distance travel.

The newest yacht project from Antonini Navi displays aggressive lines, with a raised superstructure based on the shipyard’s offshore patrol vessel designs – similar to North Atlantic tugboats.

This magnificent vessel is slated to be available in two variants, Classic Explorer and Sports Explorer, and promises to meet all of your needs in addition to offering various sundeck arrangements.

The Classic Explorer’s 60-square-meter raised deck is intended to serve as a technical space for tenders, submersibles, and water sports. Its sundeck features a military-style pilothouse, while sunbeds and a sun pad are located in the rear section.

In contrast, the Sports Explorer version appears to be more influenced by military vessels. The 65-meter-long owner’s suite, however, begs to differ.

Antonini Navi collaborated with the Netherlands’ MARIN Maritime Research Institute to test this vessel in extreme conditions.

The UP40 Explorer, according to its designers, would have a range of over 6,000 miles at 11 knots and a maximum speed of approximately 15 knots. Would you like to circumnavigate the globe aboard this yacht?
